1000m for the World Sprint thingy on the logbook. PR which is nice, my other one was 3:27 set the day before my first ever sub 7 2km as a 'practice' type session. Really happy that I was able to PR, especially as I did this after my main session for the day.
According to Paul's Law and the free spirits pace predictor I should be able to go 3:18-3:19.5 so am keen to just go a bit further into the pain cave and get that sub 200 seconds.

First 1k at the skierg today, so a PB by default, but good enough to post it in here
Target was sub 3:20, so started a bit below 1:40 splits, but lost rate and power through the middle and couldn't catch up to get it done! So close, but not in me today

0:40.3 1,000m 1:40.7 342 1477 48 172
This seems very impressive to me. I have not used the Ski-erg that much but when I have I know I am a lot slower on it than the rower. It's an underused fitness tool despite it always being in Crossfit Games - just hasn't caught on like the rower did.
Thx Keith!
It's exactly as you wrote. For me currently the difference is roughly 5-6s per 500m slower on the skierg compared to the rower and it feels harder. I started to use the skierg regularly since January and cumulated 127k on it (I do the same amount on the rower in two weeks typically), so no surprise technique and adaptation of the body to the movement can (and hopefully will) get better over time

Reading such numbers make me always feel small and light/weak
I also used the CTC as a marker what should be possible for the 2k, but I estimated based on the first 1,5k...and was a good bit slower in both of them
Very well done
Ha ha ha, your power to weight must make for impressive reading though!
I think from memory, on comparison you opened up with a quicker 1500m than me, I only used the second one because they came after the sprints.
Right
Yes, my first 1,5k of the CTC was bit faster, but not so much. I remember 1:41.9 and 1:42.6 or something like that. I did the first one with handbrake on, as I knew the last one would kill me otherwise

My first attempt at a 2k today, completely unplanned but I'm in for a hernia op on Thursday so wanted one big effort to see where I'm at now, as a benchmark ahead of BRIC in December:
6:31.0 2,000m 1:37.7 375 1589 34
1:37.7 500m 1:37.7 375 1591 35

1:37.6 1,500m 1:37.6 376 1595 35
1:38.2 2,000m 1:38.2 370 1572 35
That's a fantastic first 2K! A very small percentage of people get to the sub 6:30 mark and you are right there on first attempt. Based on other workouts you did this is not a shock but impressive. Good luck on the procedure and you will be back in top shape quickly.

First, excellent PB - big improvement! Second, I am glad you are already thinking about sub 3:20 as you were close and it will drive you. The free spirits pace predictor can be spot on for some of my rows but then off on others depending on which TTs I use - it really depends if you scores are skewed towards sprints or longer rows.

Thanks Keith, if nothing else a little set back now leaves a nice little benchmark to train towards for back end of the summer.

Still relatively new to this forum, realized this is probably the right thread for this (cross-posting from "What training have you done today...")
This isn't technically a lifetime PB, but I would label this as a "mid-life" PB...
After a failed 6k attempt a few weeks ago where I came to a dead stop with ~1.7k left, I gave it another go on Monday, this time fresh off my rest day and with plenty of time to properly mentally & physically prep.
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
20:33.0 6,000m 1:42.7 323 1410 28 170
3:25.6 1,000m 1:42.8 322 1408 28 157
3:25.4 2,000m 1:42.7 323 1412 28 164
3:25.8 3,000m 1:42.9 321 1405 28 170
3:25.6 4,000m 1:42.8 322 1408 28 174
3:25.9 5,000m 1:42.9 321 1403 29 177
3:24.7 6,000m 1:42.3 326 1423 30 179
I executed my "race" plan exactly as intended, and am stoked with the result! I'm now within 15-20 seconds of my college freshman-year PB... I've graduated from comparing my current scores against my high-school PBs and am now comparing them to various college milestones, not something I would've imagined 6 months ago... onward!

Perhaps not the textbook start to a taper week, but I wanted to stretch the legs at least once this week before resting up for Saturday's 100k. So decided to attack the Power Hour PB. New PB by 223 meters. Hopefully the confidence boost from hitting this will offset any physical issues from pushing it hard 5 days before an ultra-distance. Feeling fit and strong (albeit this felt at my limit) with all the distance training. Hopefully one day I can target 16k in an hour.

Knowing I'm going to be away for a few days and not get a chance to row, thought I'd put something short but hard in; 5k was old so thought why not just see where things are...
21:07.2 for the r20 pb I setback in Oct
I think there was more in the tank today, but given I've been holding things back for the FM prep I'll take this as a decent enough marker for now.
Only started to get tough with about 1750m to go - not that I was watching Hr, but right around hitting 180bpm I expect.

First 1k at the skierg today, so a PB by default, but good enough to post it in here
Target was sub 3:20, so started a bit below 1:40 splits, but lost rate and power through the middle and couldn't catch up to get it done! So close, but not in me today

Well done Sascha, the little that I know of skierg, this is a really solid result
Thx Stu, I'm really convinced to get it done this season, as it's only missing a blink of an eye

Still relatively new to this forum, realized this is probably the right thread for this (cross-posting from "What training have you done today...")
This isn't technically a lifetime PB, but I would label this as a "mid-life" PB...
After a failed 6k attempt a few weeks ago where I came to a dead stop with ~1.7k left, I gave it another go on Monday, this time fresh off my rest day and with plenty of time to properly mentally & physically prep.
Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
20:33.0 6,000m 1:42.7 323 1410 28 170
3:25.6 1,000m 1:42.8 322 1408 28 157
3:25.4 2,000m 1:42.7 323 1412 28 164
3:25.8 3,000m 1:42.9 321 1405 28 170
3:25.6 4,000m 1:42.8 322 1408 28 174
3:25.9 5,000m 1:42.9 321 1403 29 177
3:24.7 6,000m 1:42.3 326 1423 30 179
I executed my "race" plan exactly as intended, and am stoked with the result! I'm now within 15-20 seconds of my college freshman-year PB... I've graduated from comparing my current scores against my high-school PBs and am now comparing them to various college milestones, not something I would've imagined 6 months ago... onward!
Very strong result, and you're making very rapid progress across all of your sessions

Well done Peter. It's a good idea to be mindful of the FM, but also to test yourself within reason too.
You paced it perfectly if there was a wobble at 1750m to go. Every time I've PBed my 5k that has happened at around this stage
