PM5, ErgData, More Complex Intervals
I've been rowing the RowAlong Workouts and mainly using ErgData (and Concept2 with PM5). I have used ErgZone too.
Is there a better way to program the wokrouts.
Take One Workout: "20 minutes of Speed!"
- Easy: 30 seconds easy, 20SPM, (2K+18-20)
- Max Power: 30 sec full power, 20SPM, "10 Big Ones", Sprint
- Easy: 30 seconds easy, 20SPM, (2K+18-20)
- Max Speed: 30 second sprint, higher spm than 2K pace (e.g. 31 SPM), with power too
I can program it in ErgZone as Constant Intervals of 30 seconds. But not all the intervals 30 second intervals have the same SPM or the same 2K pace. SoI don't get to enter my 2K pace. That means I can't watch the pace boats to keep me motivated.
But I also don't want to program 20 or 40 segments manually.
There's another workout that is 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, then 4 min, each at a different SPM and different 2K pace, and repeats 3 times.
What do you recommend? How do you program your workouts?

Re: PM5, ErgData, More Complex Intervals
With ErgData you can create a custom intervals workout, create the 30" pieces with a specific pace target for each one, then duplicate (?)
France / 37 HWT (182cm-6' / 78kg-172lb)
100m = 0:17.0 | 1' = 342m | 500m = 1:34.0
1k = 3:24.7 | 2k = 7:13.1 | 5k = 19:36.2| 10k = 40:51.0
Mainly running, but enjoying rowing too

Re: PM5, ErgData, More Complex Intervals
On ErgZone if you force the last interval to have "Undefined Rest" it will program the workout on the PM5 as variable. That way your target pace based on 2k+ will set the different pace boat on the PM5 for each segment.

This could turn into a lot of data entry on my phone. I wish I could program the workout from my laptop and then send that to the app & PM5.
Re: PM5, ErgData, More Complex Intervals
ErgZone does exactly what you described. It has a website where you can create workouts from the computer and they will show in the app. It's a premium feature though https://help.erg.zone/article/81-ergzone-web-admin

I use the WODs via ergdata. They can be cut short or repeated, and done anyhow we like. However I have to keep the quality under personal control, which the pm allows.What do you recommend? How do you program your workouts?

2024: stroke 5.5W-min@20-21. ½k 190W, 1k 145W, 2k 120W. Using Wods 4-5days/week. Fading fast.

ErgZone was handy for programming today's workout. 3 Times: 2 mins at 20 @ (2K+18-20), 2 mins at 24 @ (2K+12), 2 mins at 30 @ (2K+5). Plus a 2 min cooldown = 20 min.
I programmed the first section
Duplicated and edited that to make #2
Duplicated and edited that to make #3
Then I was able to duplicate 1-3 to make 4-6, and again to make 6-9.
Then I added a two minute cool down.
Done. It was easy enough to do on my phone. I didn't need to do it on a laptop.
I like it.
I missed the ErgData paceboat animation. ErgZone doesn't have that and the paceboat "animation" on the PM5 is terrible. Oh well, you can't have everything. I just watched my 2K pace in the numerical display.
