Shoulder pain injury

Post by Ramius1975 » February 21st, 2024, 8:48 pm

I increased my training after only rowing for a few months. I have this weird bump above where I think my ac joint is on my non dominant shoulder. It feels and looks like a bone is sticking up. It starts to go away if I don’t row for a week.

First, had anyone had this? It looks weird but is totally painless.

Second, anyone know exercises to help it? My PT cannot see me for month from today. Also, what is wrong with my form that causes this?

Thanks.

The simplest way to get good feedback on your technique is to take a video of yourself rowing, (from the side) save it somewhere online, and post a link here, asking for comments.

Good luck diagnosing your issues.

I've never heard of this issue, and as you say it feels like bone I can only suggest that you get professional advice.

I'd probably do shoulder mobility exercises until then.

Possibly Bursitis.

I had one on my Lx elbow, a year ago at age 82, no idea why nor why left and not right. Never before.

If not just age, I think it was maybe due to an impact. Such sacs are somewhat exposed.

A specialist put a drain hole in it and after a month or so it disappeared.
