Training
I'd just like to give a thank you to Jim Barry. Thanks to his advice on my summer training, I was able to drop 24 seconds off my time 2k time, increase my endurance to a half marathon, and lose almost 20 lbs, all over the summer. Now I'm no longer at the bottom of my team, I'm nearing 1 million meters for the season,I'm still keeping the weight off, and I am hoping to break 7' or come as close as possible, at under 165, this weekend. This is just a recognition for your work Jim, and also hopefully a message to other high school rowers on the board; if you ask for help on the board, most times, you will recieve more beneficial insight than you could have imagined.

Thanks Mark, I am.

This past weekend I watched Nik Fleming medal for the 10th consecutive time at either the BIRC or WIRC in the very competitive 30-39 open racing. Like Neb154, Nik asked the forum years ago for some advice when his training was snagged putting in a lot of effort and going nowhere. What I said to Nik, how they each appreciated the fantastic feeling of being on the right course, and the pride I felt are very similar actually.
