Getting my PM5 history workouts online afterwards
Getting my PM5 history workouts online afterwards
Hi,
I noticed that when rowing with the Ergdata app on my smartphone, it will upload the workout online on https://log.concept2.com
The point is I don't always use my smartphone when rowing and simply use the PM5 monitor which is enough for me.
So there are now some workouts in the history of my PM5 which I would like to upload online. I tried to connect the ErgData app again on the PM5 but I couldn't find any feature in the app to retrieve past workouts on the PM5.
Would you know if I can retrieves those past workouts and upload them online using the ErgData map?
Cheers

Hi, it's not possible using ergdata. Only "live sessions" done with ergdata can be uploaded.
But PM5 sessions can be uploaded using the C2 utility and a PC/laptop connected to PM5.

Too bad...
And also, I see there are Ethernet ports on the PM5, is it possible to connect the PM5 directly to the ISP router, give it access to internet and have the PM5 upload the workouts automatically? I haven't seen anything like that in the PM5 menu though

No, this port has other functions.
Easiest way is to use ergdata everytime.
If the sessions are not important to be uploaded individually, you could also use the web interface for catch up meters to add the missing meters to your logbook.

Fine, thanks it's all clear now

Re: Getting my PM5 history workouts online afterwards
You need a USB "printer" cable (B to A), a laptop (or desktop I guess) computer, and the Concept 2 Utility. Then it's a piece of cake. You will see all your workouts, and once you prepare to upload, the ones you've already uploaded with ErgData will be grayed out. Select the ones you want to upload and click!
Except for hauling out the cable and laptop, it is pretty easy. I find that, for one reason or another, ErgData fails to record a workout every month or two. C2 Utility is the answer.

I wouldn't upload a workout via flash drive from the PM5 into the online logbook. The one time I tried that, the workout was deleted from my PM5. I contacted Customer Service about this issue, who recommended that I write in all workout data into the logbook. To me, PM5 data is more important than logbook data. I can always write in workout data into the logbook.

Use Ergdata on your phone connected to the PM5. You will get much more data that way.eurocrank wrote: ↑December 16th, 2023, 10:36 amI wouldn't upload a workout via flash drive from the PM5 into the online logbook. Using USB gets five records (default) for each of the splits in your workout - including 5 HR readings at the end of each split. Ergdata gets stroke by stroke data and includes the HR if you have a HR strap.
Re: Getting my PM5 history workouts online afterwards
I use ErgData every time I row, with the exception being the occasional dead phone. Since I lost that one workout via flashdrive, I've put non-ErgData workouts into my online Logbook manually. Unfortunately, there is a limited amount of data that can be put in. It would be nice to somehow quickly, easily upload all or a chosen number of PM5 workouts into the Logbook.
