I am ranked 38 out of 68 for hwt women in my age group. I feel fine about that for my first try!

I know I don’t really compare with all you super fast guys but I’m still proud of myself. (I’m also down 50lbs since I got my machine, so I’m feeing good about that, too!)
Very well done 👏. Don't compare yourself to anyone other than yourself or your peer group. 38 out of 68 is a great result.

I realise it might look like it's quite a common occurrence from the posts on this forum, but in the wider erging world not that many people ever attempt a HM, so you've definitely done something to be proud of.

I'm sure no one of the fast guys lost 50lbs, so full right to feel good about that. Massive win (no pun intended  ).

You should be very rightly proud - the first HM is daunting, and you're only 4.5mins slower total time than my first attempt - and yours looks like it was significantly more comfortable as well. Huge congrats - I'm sure if you take another crack now you've done your first you'll take loads more time off too.

Also losing all that weight is a hell of an achievement as well - esp doing it the "right" way via increased exercise + diet. Keep at it :)

Congratulations on the HM!
That's a big deal in itself.
Bigger congratulations on the weight loss.
Middle of the rankings on the first attempt is also good.

Another PB by default; I've never had a serious crack at the 1000m before but thought I'd give it a try today.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
3:27.1 1,000m 1:43.5 315 1384 34 169
0:39.2 200m 1:38.0 372 1579 35 156
0:40.9 400m 1:42.2 327 1426 34 168
0:41.9 600m 1:44.7 305 1348 34 173
0:42.7 800m 1:46.7 288 1290 32 174
0:42.4 1,000m 1:46.0 294 1311 38 174

I was quite happy with the result as it got me to 6th out of 48 people on the rankings and 88th percentile. I paced it horribly and definitely wouldn't use such a high DF again (works for the 500m, but not for this), but it's a start and I reckon I could do better next time. Given that my target for the 2k is 1:45, I'm glad I got this under that pace otherwise I'd have no chance!

I never stop for a drink for a continuous piece unless it's longer than 32k, but that might very well be detrimental. I have drank a bit of water occasionally during intervals, but as they're so horrible whatever you do, it's hard to tell if water has had any benefit.

Nice PB and more to come when you pace it better. Think you could probably hold 1:41 at a constant.pace.The last 400 looks like it hurt!. For me, DF at 150 works well for 500 but not for 1k. For 1k I use 135.

Great row! Yes, you could trim time with better pacing. Get the 1K closer to 3:20 (1:40 pace) and you should have a good shot at the sub 7:00 2K.

Yes, the last 500m was a struggle! Good to know your experience with DF, after this session I think I'm going to try the same, which is only using higher DF for the 500m or short intervals.

Thanks, I was wondering what my target pace for the 1k should be to achieve the sub 7 2k. I've still got a bit of work to do, but it feels within reach.

I find pacing really hard to get right with distances I'm not familiar with.

New HM PB by over 7 minutes. Was planning on a 2:06/2:07 pace to break 90 mins. After finally having a days rest I actually felt really good at the start. Did a much faster first split then planned, so then decided to try to hold that pace. Got dark at the end, but managed to pull through.
