How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
Hi,
what site or portal do you keep your data on? So far I used Garmin, but it is not enough rowing oriented.
Any suggestions for a good site or way to collect my workouts and data?
What data do you find relevant anyway? Split time, watts, HR, spm?

The log book is my source of information. With varying relevance, I take note of HR, pace, and stroke rate

I use Garmin and the C2 log, but also RowsAndAll.com, which can process a lot more data, especially when you use tools like PainSled.

Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
for rowing workouts, the logbook on here is great...there are different apps to connect your machine to the C2 site. I use erg data but I'm convinced from many on here that ergzone is probably better
I also have an excel sheet that I have recorded every single weights and cardio workout I've done since 2005. I open a different page for every 3 months and also record key data relevant to my business. So...I can find what weights and reps I was lifting, what distances I was running, what my crossfit wod scores were, how many total training sessions I've had over 18 years, etc etc And I can easily look back to the 6 or 8 weeks pre a rowing PR and see what training I was doing.
(possibly this means I am an obsessive compulsive dork)

I use Strava to keep track of my total training volume (mostly indoor rowing, on the water rowing, and cycling). Strava gets my indoor rowing data from my C2 logbook, works flawlessly. I use the C2 logbook solely to keep track of my seasonal bests and for benchmarking purposes.
I run in the mud, I sweat on the erg, and I happily battle the years...

C2 log here - via ergdata app.
I've also got an ods (spreadsheet) file where I've converted the month's pace and volume into bar charts over the season - pulled from season info on c2 log, so I can see visually what's going on - EG comparing Oct 22 to oct 23, I rowed averaged over the month 2:35.7 vs 2:14.1 88.3k vs 69.1k. pace was slower than sept '23, but volume was higher.
As I don't follow a training plan - it's mostly just "noise" but nice to see the current trend of improved pace compared to when I just started; next season I expect the differences to be smaller as I think I'm getting to the end of the "easy" gains after 18months.
After each row I look at spm, watts/pace & Hr per split; I've periodically looked at the distance per stroke (total distance/total strokes) & the Wmin rating - this is only because I wanted to work on my stroke power but needed to work out a gauge of an appropriate improvement amount, as it's my CV side that is the weaker link still.
Being able to see at X Wmin & pace at Y stroke rate had Z effect on my HR in the time period B gives me a steer as to what's currently feasible.

Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
Mainly the C2 Logbook at this point via ErgZone.
I do put all of my strength work into the Garmin app on my phone and Garmin syncs to Strava so things are tracked, but I am only really paying attention to row training / performance for the time being.

Concept 2 logbook and Ergdata on the phone, it all synchronises the data and you can easily see the history by season going back years and it will not get lost.

Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
I use the Ergdata App when I'm rowing, I like to see the additional data beyond what appears on the PM5. I'm not at all interested in the internet amusement aspect of what's available with other platforms. I prefer to suffer alone. Beyond that, I'm still a Training Peaks subscriber which is a hold over from my triathlon days. I like the way I can capture data from all the things I do: swim, bike, run, row, etc. Having an idea of your cumulative training load is pretty handy and if I were training for a specific event I could plan all my workouts in advance and peak at the right time.
Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
ErgData and the C2 logbook. I save all challenge and milestone certificates (marathons, million metres, etc) and at the end of each season I download that season's logbook data as a csv file from the website. I have folders on my NAS for each season and it all goes in there. Then I start with a new folder for the next season on 1st May.
Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?
I have my own spreadsheet. I track date, apparatus, routine, duration, avg Watts, avg HR, METS, Calories, and equivalent 10 min/mile run distance. (I can't run anymore due to knees but I want to compare what I'm doing now to what I was doing before.)
When I do a standard 30-minute row, I check the distance against the Concept 2 rankings to see where I am with respect to other people in my age group.
