I'm a new member. I'm 48 and have been sporadically using my rower for several years but recently have found the time to start using it more. I only just today discovered that there is an app, and this forum, and the logbook, and teams, and challenges, etc. I have always just listened to audio books and rowed and never realized there was so much more. So now I hope to take advantage of some of these nice features. Thanks for this open team that allowed me to join!

Re: Forum Flyers
Welcome. When I first started I found that the various challenges and the forum helped to keep me interested. One of the first motivators was to look on the rankings ( https://log.concept2.com/rankings ) and find others similar to me in age or current speed and develop friendly rivalries (that the rivals sometimes didn't know existed) trying to beat their times, often finding myself leapfrogging them as we both improved.OrganicJen wrote: ↑August 28th, 2023, 7:07 pmHi all! The Nonathlon ( https://nonathlon.com/ ) is another motivator for me.

Thanks Rick, so far I really love the online aspects. I'll look into the nonathalon on too.Yankeerunner wrote: ↑August 29th, 2023, 11:07 amWelcome. Rowed my first km today for the Fall Team Challenge making it exactly 500.000 lifetime meters for just exactly 6 months as I started my log book at the 19th of march this year
I pretty proud of that because I only manage to row 3 Times a week.

Did the CTC today and thought I would row a 2:11 pace as this my current PB for 2000m. But then I saw Sheenas entry today. So I went to my absoulte max, HR being 191 at the end (calculated MHR 185). And took off one second . Pace 2:06.7.
Sorry Sheena!

We now have four boats floating - with a chance for five by the end of the month. Just need three more entries (one of which needs to be a lightweight)
And don't forget that the fall team challenge is on as well!

Last day of the month (maybe October already in Australia ) Thanks to Chris and James, with their recent rows we almost have 5 boats floating in the CTC. We are down to just needing one more lightweight to get Boat 5 off the dock.AnnaRaeGreen wrote: ↑September 27th, 2023, 9:10 pmWe now have four boats floating - with a chance for five by the end of the month. Any lightweights out there who haven't yet rowed the CTC??

Re: Forum Flyers
sadly we missed floating boat 5 by just that one Anna.
you are right it is October1 here in Oz and I have completed the challenge this morning and just made the overall first entry for the month which is always a bit of fun.
My fastest piece for about 3 years I think - 200m => 39.0s @ 1:37.5. good place to start.

Nice one Lindsay. I'm plucking up the courage to do it this morning. Got the oceanias at the end of the month only planning a good 500m so hoping to do around 34 sec which would be good for the confidence
