I have never experienced any balls discomfort with this get-up.
Aren't you a female, which greatly simplifies some physical issues like crunching balls and related parts (although introducing others, I admit)?

You have figured out my secret. I've also been told that the amount of knee valgus I typically have on the rower just isn't possible for guys, things get crunched.

My most common clothing issue is chafing from my sports bra. I've had the passing thought that it would possibly help to ditch it, but I just can't bring myself to.

Yeah, I always wondered how female rowers coped with that part of clothing. I already feel restricted when I use my HR monitor strap and I'm always glad I can take it off. You have to deal with that all day I guess.

Yep. Row at home when no one home. Can row longer and faster without clothing. Don't knock tlll you try it. Felt a bit odd about it initially but way more comfortable and less washing. Obviously clean down the seat but overall a complete winner and I am no nudist!!

Thought about trying this previously, and seeing this topic made me consider it again during workouts this week...
But the idea terrifies me. I sweat enough during a workout that I'd likely slide right off the seat at some point!

On a more practical note, I do find that wearing appropriate undies helps certain bits stay where they should, avoiding discomfort while rowing. After trying to row in boxers once, I swore never to do so again. Maybe once you get started and everything is arranged properly, it's not actually an issue though?

Always wear a jock under my outer garment, whether jogging shorts or tights. Just keeps everything in a nice package & out of the way. Jocks are probably a generational thing. Can't imagine rowing bare naked....I'd be sliding all over the seat!

I have to have some kind of T shirt on top and shorts or underpants with a waistband below. I sweat profusely when erging and am as bald as a bowling ball. So the perspiration runs down my back and if it wasn't either absorbed by the shirt or held at bay by the waistband it would continue down my ... well, you get my drift. So it's a no from me!

I lost all focus on the erg yesterday while contemplating this. Got me really distracted and somewhat distressed! It's a no from the Aussie

I am with Nick - Hard no for me - I do row shirtless most of the time but the idea of nothing just "freaks me out"
