Road to a million complete!

Post by Mwoodburn » September 16th, 2023, 12:32 pm

I just hit my first 1,000,000 meters on the rower since I began on 3/13/23.

I started with the beginner petes plan, and never expected to finish it. Much to my surprise I not only finished it (3 weeks ago) but completed some nice milestones along the way.

When I was halfway through the BPP I rowed a half marathon. I was really happy with my time too (2:18.7). 12 weeks later once I completed the BPP I rowed a full marathon. I was absolutely ecstatic to get that done and I'm still very happy with my time (2:23.5). Once I finished the BPP and my full marathon I saw how close I was to a million and decided to hit my million mark 3 weeks later and to hit it with another half marathon to compare how far I've come.

Happy to say I just completed it this morning at 2:10.6! Which made me perfectly hit 1,000,000 meters. Just a little over 6 months since I first started rowing.

6 months later I've never felt better in my life, I've formed good habits not just in working out, but drinking less, eating better, waking up earlier, and just being more conscious of my health generally. Hell, I'm down over 30lbs!

I can't properly put into words how happy I am and how life changing all these goals have been for me. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Oh I will - I want that million meter tshirt!
Right now I’m at 663,639, having started back on the erg at the beginning of May. I just finished week 19 of BPP. I’m on track, I think, it’s just awesome to see someone who is a little further on than me who actually did it!

It definitely can be a virtuous circle when you get stuck into erging, and that's a really big improvement on your HM PB.

Fantastic work! The erg can be addicting and its something that can be done for a long period of time.

Congrats - some big gains for you across the whole spectrum, not just on the erg.

still got 61k to go to get my 1M ticked off, been doing harder/faster but shorter distances this year so my volume is a bit below where I had hoped to be by now.

Oof! Seeing this post reminds me that I still haven't done a full rowing marathon... was on track before an injury a while back, but then never got back to that goal. So jealous! :D

Awesome work. A million congratulations for all you've achieved so far. Can't wait to hear what's next. :)

Congratulations!
It's great that you have found this terrific exercise, and stuck with it.
1 Mm is certainly a lot of meters - in just half a year.
