Hooboy! Just barely got my challenge meters over the line and into the meter piggy bank yesterday! This week will be harder for some of us!




Other things that are sometimes harder than you might expect: doing litter clean up in your community!

We put out our cone zone (it's a 40 mph speed with no shoulder road), and went to work. You've probably got adopt-a-road or adopt-a-street options in your locale, too. The scary part of doing this clean up (besides watching for snakes and high speed traffic) was finding MANY small Fireball and other liquor bottles, and so many beer cans. Iced coffee containers, at least 15 tennis balls (it's outside a dog park on one end), candy bar wrappers and MANY, MANY fast food containers. Many. And one bicycle multi-tool. Still, at the end of the allotted time, we had three bags full and you could tell that the area had been cleaned up. Thinking of approaching some local high schools with an opportunity for volunteer work especially on National Public Lands Day....
