Huntsman World Senior Games

Huntsman World Senior Games is a massive 50+ athletic competition held every October for more than 30 years in St. George Utah. 10,000 athletes compete in 30 sports. They added indoor rowing a few years ago, and it is a very well-run competition. Races include 2K and 5K with lightweight designations, plus a coed 2K relay. Age groups in 5 year increments. It is new, and they don’t advertise on Regatta Central, but this event is worthy of more attention from the C2 community! Competition just wrapped up, and I’ll post some key results here when they are issued.

So, nice event, good competition, great setting in St. George Utah, and medals the size of saucers. Hope to see more folks there next October (even if that reduces my chances of taking home a saucer...)

They offer 2K, 5K, and coed 2K relay events, with LW and Open categories. Cool event, with other sports to watch while you are waiting to erg (volleyball in the gym next door is super-competitive and entertaining!) St. George is a very pleasant little town, with other stuff to do as well. Unfortunately, this event will NOT show up on Regatta Central. Reservations must be made through their web site.

Looks a good event, I hope they continue it and in turn promoting more events around the globe.
