Target 2:17.1 (or 2:16.7, depending on whether I'm targeting Saturday's pace or the 3x2000 I used as a target for Saturday)

It's all about finishing it, so don't dwell on the struggle.
Your stroke rate was high for you too, so don't underestimate how much that will have changed things.

You went for the tougher of the two targets and met it, and beat it in the final rep. Only by a smidge but you still beat it. That's a solid workout. That's what it's all about.

W6 S3 7,500m at UT1
Staying in hr band means pace is fading now as the distance increases, which is to be expected. I guess it'll be 2:15-2:16 when I get to 10,000m. A decent session. Onwards and upwards.

Nice! It's a fine line sometimes between pushing yourself and overdoing it - I've crossed that line a few times. But how else are you going to know your capabilities if you don't try to push beyond them every once in a while? Sometimes you discover you're more capable than you thought!

Target was 2:34.1, from the last week's 10k. Then speeding up in the final bit.
That 3rd split bugs me, lol.

Pete says to take this one easy and at a low rate, focusing on technique, so I covered the monitor again, and tried to keep it steady and relaxed.

W6 S4 5,000m, hold steady pace to halfway then increase a little.
I went for 2:14 (UT1) to 3,000m and then to have the PM showing 2:11/12 and 2:09/10 for the next 2 x 1,000m. It felt like hard going from the off. No hrm today so not sure if the fatigue was real or perceived. Anyway, job done. Looking back through the running and rowing log I see I haven't had a full rest day for a while. Maybe tomorrow I'll just relax and drink beer.

W3S3: target was 6k.
I saw an idea on Reddit to flip over the monitor and just row. So I did that for 30 mins. Tried to stay at a pace where I can talk. Ended up a little bit over 6k.
Watched the Cavendish documentary on Netflix. Amazing comeback.

W6 S6 6 x 500m - aiming for same pace as last time for first 5 (2:04.4) and faster on final.
Went okay throughout, I felt I could have gone faster on reps 1-5 and eased off to avoid overdoing it because there's plenty of the plan to go but still ended up well ahead. I guess that's a good sign. Anyway, job done.
Storming final rep on those 1,000 intervals, FO!
