Real time Loop Freezing
Real time Loop Freezing
Anyone else had the real time loop app freeze up on them?
The stats on the left keep updating fine, but my avatar on the track freezes, and I can't save the workout
It has done that a few times now, I hope it get fixed soon.

Re: Real time Loop Freezing
I have had that happen to me once our twice as well.
It is frustrating, but I just assume there is some issue with my iPad, internet connection speed, C2's computer, etc., and hope it doesn't happen next time. (I have used the loop many times.)

It won't ever get fixed unless you report the problem to rowing@concept2.com.
Re: Real time Loop Freezing
Today it did something new, I was rowing in the loop and the app returned to the normal non loop workout screen, whit no way to save the ongoing workout.
After yesterdays crach I rebooted the tablet, and took the batteries out of the PM5 over night, that did not solve anything.
I'll try a using a iPhone next time.

Re: Real time Loop Freezing
Hello Jan,
If you have a USB drive plugged into the PM5 it will always save your workout; no matter what happens to the app.
I see the loop freeze periodically also. I am lucky enough to have my own machine at home. When the podcast or video I am streaming during a long workout buffers, or loads an ad the loop is more likely to hesitate. But in my case it never lasts more than ~5 seconds. Then my avatar swooshes quickly back into the mix. Sometimes I see other avatars hesitate, and zoom back into motion.
TLDR- it's more likely a WiFi thing than an app bug. (although I would not rule out a bug)
If you are using a shared machine and shared WiFi at the gym I recommend investing in an inexpensive flash drive. Get something compact, 16GB or less, USB 2.0 speed is fine. These are the max specs that a PM5 can support. Put a lightweight lanyard on it. You don't want to hang your keys from a USB port.
If this is happening to you at home I would still get the drive. But troubleshoot what is going on with the signal. How far away is the router? What is between the tablet and the signal? Walls, big metal appliances, and long distances can be a problem.

Re: Real time Loop Freezing
Hi Kevin,
I've seen other avatars hesitate as well, quite often in fact, but the freeze I refer to is not hesitation, it's totaly frozen, for the rest of the workout, we're talking +15 minutes.
I only row at home, the router is on the other side of a thin drywall, about 3-4 meters, signal is wery strong, and no other apps running on the tablet.
Lately it has bin working fine, no chashes/freezes, only the hesitation on some of the others avatars.

Re: Real time Loop Freezing
Once in a while I do so other's avatars freeze, but it usually briefly. (They will be close to me for a while, and then all of a sudden drop back, as if they were done, then all of a sudden jump back up to me.)
