Floor space for SkiErg with floor stand ?

Post by HornetMaX » July 31st, 2023, 5:42 am

In the SkiErg manual the say something like:
Training area: 60cm x 127cm
Free area: 122cm x 193cm
That seems like a lot of extra space around it (in particular, to it's left & right).

I was pondering putting a SkiErg with floor stand in a corner of my garage: how much space extra lateral space do I need ?

I would leave 30cm (1 foot) on each side, and 30cm behind. That's pretty close to what is recommended for width, and less for length. You don't need any space in front. I like having line of sight so I face into the room with the gap behind. I could turn it around and push it against the wall to save 30 cm.

Just for future reference, now that I have placed the SkiErg (with platform) in a corner of my garage, I think you can get away with just 20cm of space (e.g. before a wall) on each side instead of 30cm. Less than 20cm may become uncomfortable (esp. if if, unlike me, you're a big athlete).
