Never doubt the power of a good bike helmet to keep yer noggin in one piece! One of the guys took a hard crash on some gravel today - I've never seen gravel embedded in the side of a helmet! He's ok and all xrays were negative. If it's been two years since you last bought a new helmet, replace your helmet!

Ride the Rockies is in full swing - and so are the mountain thunderstorms. These are accompanied by hail, and really cold temperatures. Still, the men and women who have trained for this event wouldn't think of giving up! A good break at an aid station, though? Sure!

Continuing on the Ride the Rockies theme (I've completed five of them), these ride routes showcase different parts of Colorado each year. This year, some otherwise beautiful vistas are being blanketed by rain, some rock slides, and road closures. Many of the communities don't have the lodging space for a bunch of cyclists, and many touring cyclists don't have the funds to spend on hotels. Concerts that were and are designed to be held at the campgrounds are being held - but the listeners are staying in their tents...trying to stay dry and warm. There is only so much weather you can withstand before you make the call !

This campground shown below (from a RTR facebook post) is just outside of Estes Park, and it's the MacGregor Ranch - rimmed by snow capped peaks, nice green meadows. And it looks like misery. We can all handle an occasional rain shower, but day after day....hooboy.

TWO Concept2 Challenges Coming Our Way This Next Week !!

Juneteenth Challenge: Monday, June 19

Concept2 will be donating $19,000 to charity to mark Juneteenth. For every person who signs up from the home page of their logbook, and does at least 1900m on June 19, we will donate an extra $2, up to a maximum total amount of $38,000. Note: BikeErg meters count for half the distance when applied to the challenge.

Summer Solstice: Wednesday, June 21

In honor of the longest day of the year, we invite you to participate in the Summer Solstice Challenge by completing 21,000 meters. And yes, bike erg meters count for half the distance when applied to the challenge.

We don't currently have you listed as an active Lunie - my guess is that while you have indicated us as a team, you haven't signed on under affiliation in the log profile. We cannot see (or claim you as a member) until you scroll down in the Affiliation list and pick Luna-Tics. We certainly want DeepSpaceSeven as a teammate! If you've already done that, I may have to reach out to Command Central (Concept 2!) and get their assistance. Please advise!
