How to Plug the PM5 into a Wall Outlet
I'd like to avoid replacing batteries and just plug my PM5 into a nearby wall outlet. I've tried using an iPad transformer and plugging in a USB cable into the back of the unit, but that doesn't seem to do anything. Can this be easily done?

I think you may find you still need batteries in the PM5.
If you put a brand new set of Duracell or Energizer Alkaline batteries ONLY into the PM5 and you run a 5V adapter with a printer USB cable, you will find the batteries last 10 years because they are just "Standby" in case power fails and they will also backup the time/date in case of mains failure.
Do not put cheap batteries in the monitor, they will not last 10 years and will leak and destroy your PM5.
I recommend Duracell, I still have a pair for testing that had a best install date of March 2005. Considering these now have shelf lives of up to 10 years, they will probably outlast the PM5.

If you have an older firmware version on the monitor it doesn't have the battery level display at the top of the screen.
Pretty much it should stay full every time you turn the monitor on if it stays plugged into the wall.
Update the firmware on the PM5, its free with the C2 Utility.
