First Impressions On The Slides
Training
Heavy rowers have more weight to thrust against the flywheel.

On slides, heavy rowers have a greater weight differential, between pushing their own weight on the erg and pushing the erg on the slides. Thus the time gained on the slides is greater for heavy rowers than for lightweights.

As the rating goes up, the watts produced should also increase.

If the rating increases and the watts are lower, then the rower is trading rate for pace.

Getting a higher distance per stroke is only useful if it generates more watts on the monitor. If it doesn't, then the rower is trading weight for pace, and needs to spend more time learning to apply power to the handle and getting more watts output from the monitor.

Well, maybe you can find it wandering around Costco gathering food samples. Does Wally World (you're favorite place on earth) do that too?

Getting a bargain is matter of getting what you have paid for, i.e. getting value for your efforts.

Trading rate for pace is not a very good deal. If you're going to use more effort, then you should get a faster pace in return. Otherwise you are spinning your wheels.

On the other hand, using rate to gain pace is a bargain.

I hung the slides on the wall beside the erg yesterday.

Here is a picture of them:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y41/jo ... es1.jpg

Hi Paul,

Sure, I will be glad to do that.

Just send along the deed to your house and your car.

Once they are received and sold I will get right to work on your proposal, provided FrankJ approves, and I'll even split the proceeds with him.

Was that supposed to inspire awe at your brilliance? I took it as if you were "hanging up the slides", i.e. not going to use them anymore.

Why would FrankJ have to approve. In fact, I will pay the shipping (within the USA) to send them to someone who will appreciate them, instead of you hanging them on the wall because they don't prove what you wanted them to. I'm sure Frank would have no problem with that. (If he does, he will surely let me know.)

You are nothing but an excuse looking for a place to happen.

Now put up or shut up.

Yesterday I drilled some holes and hung the slides from the rafters, then decided it would be easier to keep them on the wall right next to the erg so I moved them to there. Now it is much easier to set them up and use them than it was. I am very happy about this and posted the pictures so others would be able to get the slides and use them similarly.

I already knew you that you were awed by my brilliance, though this is totally unintentional on my part.

I gotta admit, I'm amazed that you had enough brain power to put some hooks on your wall and hang slides from them, I'm just not so sure how useful they will be there. All this time I thought that they went underneath the Erg, as shown on the C2 site, but ya never can tell how things might work in Bizzarro World.

Carrying them our each time you needed them might have been a good way to improve your strength and get that power you are needing to improve these days, you may be short circuiting your own training, as unintended as that would be.

If you are going to sell me your house for the price of shipping of Slides, I'll let you keep your car so you will have someplace to sleep. I'm not without compassion for someone of your mental ability, adn can tell that you need a bit of looking after. $36 for a California rambler seems like a reasonable deal, you've got 30 days to vacate, or start paying rent. Don't you do a little real estate along with that life coaching? I can imagine some of your selling clients get pretty mad if your negotiating skills lead to this sort of transaction.
