As I recently improved my 5K PB, I felt obliged to give a go also to the 10K: 35s improvement. Not huge, but improvement.

Code: Select all

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M HR
40:53.6 10,000m 2:02.6 190 952 22 171
 4:03.5 1,000m 2:01.7 194 967 22 158

 4:05.0 1,000m 2:02.5 190 955 23 182
P.S.
I'm doing a 5 weeks cycle (4 sessions/week) with some sort of 2K training plan that is a mix of what RowAlong suggests (here) and some stuff discussed on this forum (what Tony Cook said in this discussion). In a nutshell: 1 hard session (I like the 4x 1000m+5rest @2KRP+1s), 1 mid session (I like the 4x 2000m+7rest @2KRP+9s) and 2 steady sessions (usually 1 HM and 1 1h or maybe a 5K/10K TT), interleaved as mid / steady / hard / steady. I like I can take my previous week as reference and just try to improve on it progressively. The result of the hard session also tells me what i can expect for the 2K TT at the end of the cycle.
35s is excellent.....well done

Good Job - Guess it's worth doing some sprint work; I have to really shorten my stroke to go above 32 as it stands and that feels a bit wrong.

Yes, at the moment 29-30 is the most efficient way for me to row 2k. I've tried it at 32 and I'm slower so my stroke at 32 is either shorter or less efficient.

Yowza!

Been working towards sub 8 min 2k since I started rowing and finally did it today. It wasn"t ideal to do it today but I can't row the next 2 days because of a business trip. I can leave 2ks alone for a while now and do more slower mileage.
