2K time trial done 8:46.8

a little disappointed but I really do hate the long hard sprints. Started well, maintained pace actually very well. struggled a bit in the third quarter but finished the last 500 strong. was very very happy to be finished :)

Well done! Now you have a feel what to improve, where you strength and weaknesses are and start working on them 👌

That sounds perfect. You need dissatisfaction with your first 2k as it's fuel to do better next time. The third 500m is always horrible, unless you're going far too slow. The last 500m is usually relatively manageable as pride kicks in.

Being so happy to finish is no surprise as you're not suited to this sort of effort, and your mind's defence mechanism goes into overdrive. Your telling yourself it's too hard, and you can't possibly do it again. We all know you can, and the next will be easier, admittedly, probably imperceptibly easier, but easier nevertheless. Your body adapts, and your mind starts to accept.
