New PB at 2k! ... well the only time I've properly done a 2k, I deliberately went for a pace I new I could sustain, as I know my endurance is pretty poor at anything past a quick sprint. My aim was to stick to 1.55 and see how I felt in the last 250, kept pretty close to that and still had a little left at the end finishing with around 1.47 for the last 100m or so. So probably a little more time in there somewhere.

Well done....more in there I reckon 🤠

You've definitely got more to give if you weren't hating life in the last 400m, but well done anyway
Congrats!! You definitely have some more in the tank! So great to have the 1st proper one out of the way. Sub7:30 is close.

Team challenge already today - 2k.
Wanted to go for it tomorrow lunch, but that will not work with the gym session tomorrow. So I decided to attack it today and hoped for a tie of current PB, as my legs were a bit jelly from yesterdays gym session 😂
So warmup was a bit quicker 2k (7:16) to not waste much power. Then the race plan: start at 1:40, back down to 1:42 and see what's left for the last 500 to hopefully tie the current PB of 6:46.5.
In the end I could get a tiny little new PB 😄

And absolutely sure, if attacking it fresh, there are ~2s more in the tank. Probably even more. A question of time, when 6:40 is hit!
For this season it places me at 96th percentile of my age/weight group, so target already reached ✅

Was supposed to be a steady state HM, but I wanted to go a bit harder on the 1st 10K to judge if I can improve my current 10 PB.
Ended up 2s slower of my current 10K PB (so yeah, I should improve it) and then cruised to bring my HM PB to 1:28.02 (38s improvement).

congratulations on the world record Cam.

Also mega congratulations on your PB in the 500...huge to get that in a race setting, even though I'm sure you're gutted about the end result.

my POV...console yourself with a win at the World Virtual 1k next week and break the world record while you're at it.

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M	HR
6:45.0	2,000m	1:41.2	337	1460	29	170
0:49.7	250m	1:39.4	356	1526	30	160
0:49.9	250m	1:39.8	352	1511	28	170
0:50.7	250m	1:41.4	336	1455	30	170
0:51.1	250m	1:42.2	328	1428	28	172
0:51.0	250m	1:42.0	330	1435	29	172
0:51.4	250m	1:42.8	322	1408	29	172
0:50.9	250m	1:41.8	332	1441	32	173
0:50.2	250m	1:40.4	346	1490	33	174
Excellent! Your followed your plan and got a PB! Plus did it with no taper or special training for it. You times just keep improving, fun to watch.
