thank you.

what happens now? How do I enter results?

Thank you
The section underneath the current challenge shows 'Most recent entries' and 'Add/Update Entry'. The latter is where you scroll to your user name, enter the password and then the entry details for the current challenge. Click 'How great am I?' and you see the entry within the 'Most recent entries' and also the leaderboard. Your team boats will be shown on the right hand side.

While I'm here - anyone need a rower in their team? Maybe with a facebook/social media group for tips advice?

There were some outstanding performances over the 500m for the December Challenge. It was a
close contest but Te Waka finished at the head of the leaderboard. Congratulations!

The Diamonds launched sixty boats in adding another five to their own record from last month. This is an amazing, unprecedented level of participation. Great stuff!

As mentioned last month, it does create a problem in deciding the next challenger. Some years ago, we changed the formula when FIRT launched forty-two boats. If we wish to spread the challenge more equitably between all teams, The Diamonds, by their very success, dictate a further change.

The new formula is a very straightforward one suggested by George Bingham. It's simply:

Number of Active Months + Number of Boats Launched, limited to ten

This retains the benefit of encouraging participation while allowing even the smallest teams regular progression to the challenger spot. It's also future-proofed against even greater levels of participation and doesn't alter the current table radically. There's been considerable support for random selection. This doesn't take into account the fact that some teams have been waiting two years while others have had a recent challenge. Nor does it guarantee that a team will ever get a challenge unless some arbitrary rules are added to ensure this.

Future Challengers:

February - FIRT
March - The Diamonds
April - Sub7

Age Against The Machine, as a new team with three or more consecutive months of launching boats, may claim a challenge. It doesn't happen automatically; please contact me either by PM, the C2 forum page or through facebook.

Happy New Year! Good luck with all your training and racing goals.

Regards,
Joe

Thanks Kevin. FIRT always run a thorough, democratic selection for the Challenge.

Hello Guys !

After 16 steps on our polls, we have our february workout for CTC.
Please keep the name, it has also been submitted to a vote, so that is our community choice.

FIRT'S countdown
Row the following intervals, with free rate and rolling starts if you wish after the first interval (must be standing on that one).
3:00/1:00r
2:30/1:00r
2:00/1:00r
1:30/1:00r
1:00

Your score will be the total distance rowed on those total 10:00.

Good luck everyone !

I'll take a look.

I've deleted one result, renamed that second userid and reset the password to an unknown value.

Hi Dougie,

One of my team members, Keith Baxter from Red Line Rowers, is having trouble posting his 1k time. He hasn't posted for a while, so it may be that his account has gone latent. I've tried the default password but that doesn't work either. Are you able to reset his password for him.

Thanks,
George

Hello, I created and registered a time using user ID "LUE42", but would rather use my name going ahead. I would like to use my name going ahead and have created and registered a time under "Cory Woodrow".

Can an admin delete "LUE42" please?

I wish you'd asked to rename the LUE42 id. That would have been easier.

I've fixed your mess up.

The February CTC board says to check on here for who is choosing the March Challenge.

I'm taking it that my team The Diamonds (Over Sixties Erging Group) are still choosing it.

I know there's been discussion about a new formula for who's turn it is to choose the challenge which is fine and what I've heard so far seems fair enough but thought that any new system would be starting after March as we had already been told we were choosing it so is there any opposition to that?

No problem if there is but we do need to agree what's happening soon so that we can get on with deciding what to set for next month.
