2k-leaderboard
2k-leaderboard
The best 2k-time for the current season for men in the Concept 2-leaderboard is from today 4:37, with 1:09 as split time.
The time is "verified".
Seems pretty fast too me ...

Re: 2k-leaderboard
Unfortunately its not impossible for the older monitors like the PM3 to develop a fault due to corrosion mainly and give erratic readings.
Otherwise its pretty difficult to fake a result that is just a bit faster than the best on the board.
I decided to see how hard or easy it was to fake a result and posted a 6:00 2K time but you need a broad range of electronics skills to be able to do it so its way beyond the average rower.
The process was done to see how reliable the results would be for verified rows and verified meters only and I'm pretty confident in summary that they would be 99.99% reliable moving forward with a monitor like the PM5.
You could fake a result with the early PM2 with just a mechanical change and then it got subsequently harder and harder with each generation of monitor to fake a result.
Concept 2 must be able to pull what monitor is being used for a verified time and should display it. The PM5 got a whole lot smarter, lets leave it at that.
I have been pushing for verified meters only rows for Challenges for years now, or at least one monthly Challenge a year for verified meters only but C2 are not interested.
With the PM5 on the Model D, Concept 2 now has the ability to put up a 100% publicly visible verified result across all the leaderboards and the Challenges, so I wish they would implement it.

Wouldn't that be a world record?

Re: 2k-leaderboard
Correct me if I'm wrong but the WR is like 5:37 by Rob Waddell so if it was beaten it would probably be in fractions of a second not a full minute.JaapvanE wrote: ↑November 12th, 2022, 6:04 pmWouldn't that be a world record?

The top two results on that table are both wrong.

That’s 1:09.26 splits.
The fastest 1,000 is at 1:20 splits and fastest 500 is 1:12.
Plus the guy whose posted it has the following ranked times for this season:
Date Event Result Pace Type
09/17/22 500m 1:39.4 1:39.4 RowErg
10/10/22 1,000m 3:32.9 1:46.4 RowErg
11/12/22 2,000m 4:37.0 1:09.2 RowErg
Something’s definitely awry.

4 is below 7 on a keypad so my guess is 7:37 for the 2kmTony Cook wrote: ↑November 13th, 2022, 6:34 pmThat’s 1:09.26 splits.

But that shouldn't be possible to verify (that is the whole point of verification, that you can't punch in any arbitrary time/distance).winniewinser wrote: ↑November 14th, 2022, 4:16 am4 is below 7 on a keypad so my guess is 7:37 for the 2km

Very weird, and as it's so unbelievable it surely can't be someone thinking they'll be taken seriously?MartinSH4321 wrote: ↑November 14th, 2022, 1:21 pmThere's also a verified 30' result 10.620m 1:24 pace. Weird!

Seems like the 4:37-result now has been removed from the leaderboard.
