This is absolutely crazy! Congratulations!Elizabeth wrote: ↑November 10th, 2022, 10:15 pmA full recap of the marathon is in the endurance thread in the training forum. Here's the session, and I did indeed end with a full-out sprint - https://log.concept2.com/profile/1558013/log/68739755
Really interesting what you posted about the strong fan helping with blisters - I completed a marathon once (much much slower

Re: Forum Flyers
absolute knockout Elizabeth.
I'm celebrating baby steps today and thought I would check in after my last note.
Had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago today so I was trying to keep my CTC run active at 134 continuous months. Mission accomplished with 2 days to spare.
I have been back in the gym for a couple of weeks and rehab is going well but only one leg available for the erg (and it is compromised by serious OA)
Reasonably happy to finish it - 21:48 @2:10 (2:13/2:11/2:08/2:03). My hardest hit out for some months.
Best to all

Re: Forum Flyers
Hi Jack - Ewen's times this year suggest he has been spending more time on the erg. He has spent a lot of time competing in strong man competitions in Europe and he is super strong. I'm pretty sure he has been well under 1:20 in the past. His longer pieces are pretty good too from the look of things.jackarabit wrote: ↑December 1st, 2022, 9:33 pmEarly bird FF score in the December CTC: Ewen Roth tops the day 1 list with 635Waverage for 500m.

Hey Lindsay. Don’t know the gentleman but recalled him from photos with fellow Flyers Slothful 1 and Yankee Runner at Paris WRIC a couple years back.

Re: Forum Flyers
Congratulations to the 26 Flyers who completed the Holiday Challenge to raise money for various charities! (Most of you passed the 200k mark - unlike myself who was "over and done" at 100 k.)
If you are looking to do the same in January, don't forget there is a Team Challenge in January. Don't forget that you need to sign up for that (I think it is on the Teams page on the C2 site). All metre's count towards the Challenge so don't feel you need to commit to another 100k.
And, one more more day left to complete the December CTC (500m). We need 2 more entries to get Dave, Jack and myself off the dock.
Wishing everyone a safe and healthy 2023!

Re: Forum Flyers
As Anna pointed out, only two more ergers needed to get boat VI launched. Just a mere 500m, either quick or slow (Bums on Seats!).
In addition to getting our crewmates off the dock it would be good preparation for the January Challenge of a straight 1000m.

Re: Forum Flyers
Indeed HNY to all. Results are pretty encouraging to my eyes recently with our boat 1 quite prominent and good/consistent participation.
I did the 1k this morning =>> 3:56.1 @1:58. Quite happy with that for now as 11 weeks post TKR - progress at least!

Re: Forum Flyers
thanks 'Danger" (i think I used to call you that back in the day too). I'm certainly much happier on the surgical leg than the other one now and have put in a lot of work to get here with a daily physio supervising for the last 4 months. The advantage we "serious" trainers have is that it is second nature to do this stuff. I realized early on that it was similar to preparing for a race season and I just plugged in and did it. Paid dividends so far. Second one in April I think. I'm starting to think about what it may look like in a year.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2023, 4:43 amApologies for hijacking your team thread, but that's great news Lindsay, your op and TKR.

That's great to hear. Rehab is a massive issue for far too many people, but that's your strongest weapon.lindsayh wrote: ↑January 2nd, 2023, 5:41 amthanks 'Danger" (i think I used to call you that back in the day too). Very quiet in here. Like a hotel pool at 5AM. You smell the chlorine, hear the filter, your footsteps echo. Where is everyone?
Out and about? Hitting the gym now we are sooooo over Covid? Commuting to work? Sheltering in place? Sussing out the new, new normal or searching for the old?
USIRC in Atlantic City in 23. You going? A lot of IR comps gone virtual? Are you competing? Let us know.
Big shout out to Harry “The Hamster” Säisä, at the front of the meter muncher pack in the 2023 C2 VTC, and also to all those hot on Harry’s heels. (Don’t know what happened to that N. Withheld fellow?)
Anyway, if the Blue Norther and the Icequake have passed and you ain’t toooooo busy, check in and give us the news from your patch.
