Skierg Wrist Support, straps?

I have begin recently having wrist pain from using the Skierg, I always use a wrist brace to help stabilize and don't grip too tightly. I read previous posts of people using straps that are normally used for ski poles. If I were to go this route how involved would the setup be to add straps to the existing handles?

There are on the net some fotos of possible solutions.
Can't imagine Xcountry skiing or hill walking without straps on the poles.
