Thanks Rodb, stellar service ! If I can send you a virtual beer (or isotonic drink), let me know :)
Hunting for a good occasion on a SkiErg now (not easy in my area, south of France).

BTW, it would be interesting if concept2 created a combined Row&Ski-Erg:
  • Single flywheel (on the side of current SkiErg) and single PM5
  • RowErg frame merged to the vertical base of the SkiErg so that you row facing the SkiErg (not like the setup I'm envisaging/you've tried)
  • Rowing rail still detachable or foldable vertically (to move things around)
The two are so complementary (from what I've read around) that it could be an interesting proposition (if cheaper than buying the two separately,
which it should be).

I hate to say this, but you would probably be better off trading your RowErg & SkiErg in for a ski-row by EnergyFit. Users used to the Concept2 who use the ski-row say it’s very close to the C2 but more versatile. I was on one on a trip last year and got a decent row on. ( I’ll keep my C2- but I’ve got plenty of space)

Hmm I've only seen a few videos (which admittedly is not enough to judge), but I think I'll stick to concept2 stuff. The EnergyFit:
  • seems to have a lot of plastic here and there
  • when used as a skierg its vertical column seems to wobble (a bit)
  • the air-only version seems to make a very annoying noise
  • the monitor looks worse, both in terms of display and buttons
Even space-wise (for my specific case), if the EnergyFit fits (haha), the RowErg + SkiErg will fit too.

I finally managed to grab a second hand SkiErg (8 months old, 10K on it .. ) and managed to fit it in my garage without overlapping the RowErg.
Bit of a jigsaw but it works fine.

P.S.
I now have 3 ergs: concept2's RowErg and SkiErg, plus an Aprilia made "BikeErg"

Have to admit that sometimes it *also* makes me sweat / trains my cardio :)
