Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
So it's funny you say that because when I first stuck the usb stick in there... Nothin.. battery was too low so ran to walgreens and put some new ones in. Then when I would insert usb, it would attempt to do it, throw a bunch of jibberish on the screen and throw an error code of some sort. Of course I went to go get batteries for it and it didnt work anyway - so remembered the cable method and was like oh yeah and then no problemsKona2 wrote: ↑September 27th, 2022, 6:51 pmMy recent experience with updating firmware: It is a little tricky, but very possible, to update firmware with a flash drive. It does cost you a brand new set of D batteries, because you have to have greater than 85 percent battery life to do it. (This was something I learned from the Concept2 people.) You have to be ready to start the upload as soon as you plug in the drive - because that was the only time it was reading the drive. Once you've got the yellow go light, it is a very quick process. But you will have donated to the swear jar already by then.
Thanks Benjamin and Lola for bringing up some answers - I would bet that many teammates have had similar questions. We learn through the stories we tell !
regardless cable is definitely the better route - especially if you have a laptop because moving the erg to your computer or computer to your erg can be... interesting

Fun day today with the Beti Bike Bash - a series of mountain bike races just for women. Naturally, whole families were there to cheer on categories like New Moms, Never Evers, Beginners. My favorites though were the side races that they had for what I call the minis. Kids so small that many were on Strider bikes that don't have pedals! The competitiveness and determination starts ever so early, and parents were racing alongside their respective minis with cameras as they captured "first race ever!"

Hooboy! Very unusual to start the day with thunder, lightning and pouring rain in Tucson! Tucson is a high lightning strike density area - before I knew how lightning travels, used to sit on the porch and watch the light show. Know better now (mostly). No matter where you are in this world, when a storm comes in, the other colors are always so vivid !

Bunny Trails of the Mind...another episode!
The author had me at "farm to spaceship." It's been awhile since we've headed down a bunny trail. These things just happen. This trail started with an article in the Colorado Sun, an online newspaper, early today. Many of our Colorado mountain towns are populated with creative types who just want to have a business that allows them to stay in the region they love to hike, bike, and river in - where they can earn enough to get through the non-tourist times. A young couple, avid backpackers, were seeking a way to create an instant coffee that was actually good so that they wouldn't have to carry their French press coffee maker on backpacking trips where space and weight were premium. Flash forward a few years, and success has occurred. They've had to overcome the bad press (groan)/reputation that the category of instant coffee has received. With product names like Dawn Patrol, First Ascent has product in a lot of mountain town and bike shops along the Front Range....and now, NASA has ordered some Dawn Patrol for one of its astronauts who enjoyed this coffee while on a backpacking trip in Colorado. While the astronaut isn't named, deduction says that it is the only female Native American astronaut, and she's leading the mission to the International Space Station...today.
So where did the Farm To Spaceship bit first come in? The coffee roaster equipment had a visible Farm to Spaceship sticker on it. Oddly enough, this came from a series of Pandemic events where the usual Farm to Table event had to get a little more creative. Looking for a way to help agriculture and artists, Brian Corrigan came up with farm to a galaxy far, far away. The central experiential theme was Farm to Spaceship: An Artist-Driven Takeout Dinner Experience. People would order a takeout dinner where the special ingredient was water from Mars. It was both a dinner and a digital storyline where an unidentified transport company would drop off dinner ingredients and secret recipes to enhance the takeout dinner scene. And, presumably, a sticker that said Farm to Spaceship.
And there you have it - check in on the International Space Station. It has a new brew.
