I’m certain they will get it sorted out. I’ve only had the two incidents of freezing after timed sessions. Otherwise, I feel the same as you do. Probably not perfect - I did lose a workout after upgrading, but not sure whether that was app or user error. I'm on Android, so maybe iOS version is flakier?
I sympathize with the haters though. Everyone wants something that just works without hassle. If the app is failing for them, no wonder they're frustrated. Fingers crossed that continued updates fix things soon.

It's had no problems at all for me since V2.0.6 it's now on V2.0.11Joebasscat wrote: ↑September 9th, 2022, 7:38 pmI’m certain they will get it sorted out. It even works without any problems alongside Rowpro too.

Apart from losing the DF for a few days - now fixed - the minor irritation I have is when doing intervals the stroke counter is intermittent. I use it for Wolverine L4 sessions and set up for 10’ intervals with undefined rest, so I just carry on, I can then monitor my total strokes as I go. Every now and then the stroke count stays at zero.

Re: ErgData 2.0 is horrible!
I've not really got the history a lot of you have with the older App having only been using Concept2 products for around 4 months.
I love the IOS App and the way it's been progressed. I can see all the information on one screen that I want. I'd say the stroke rate, when doing the work out of the day, could be highlighted a little better but (i.e. too fast / too slow) but that's a really minimal critical thing.
The HRM from the Apple Watch was a great feature update. The WOD feature is also really good and I find I set everything up from the App on the phone and only press the connect button two/three times on the PM5 and I don't touch anything else. I have only had one crash on the App and that was about a week ago whereby, once restarted, it resynch'd with the PM5 and all was good again and I think that was likely due to the phone as well.

Re: ErgData 2.0 is horrible!
How about, and stick with me here, for a lot of us is DOESN'T WORK. Since July 7 I've had five total sessions (out of over a hundred) actually recorded and uploaded, and most of those were warmup sessions. This is after doing a full update on the PM5 and uninstalling/reinstalling the app. Before it did everything I needed it to, now it's missing one of it's most important functions.gilles13006 wrote: ↑September 1st, 2022, 6:56 amI don't understand why people hate so much the new version. It simply has more informations available and more customisable. Old version strictly had similar informations than on PM5 screen which was quite useless. Maybe you would prefere some other apps, but you just can't compare new to old ergdata.
Re: ErgData 2.0 is horrible!
It's been two months for me and I'm certain they will never sort it out. Adding Apple watch features is great and all but if the app can't do the most basic thing it exists for then it's useless. I'm very disappointed, Concept2 has been great otherwise but if they can't fix a simple synchronization feature after all this time and all these complaints I'm starting to wonder if their customer service reputation is all it's cracked up to be.Joebasscat wrote: ↑September 9th, 2022, 7:38 pmI’m certain they will get it sorted out. It'll never get fixed if they don't know about the error. Send an email to info@concept2.com with details of what version you're running, what version of PM3/PM4/PM5 you've got and what operating system is on your phone. That way they'll have something to look at.

You can make a case for C2 shipping buggy code, but you'll have a hard time finding customer service/support issues.
C2 developers respond to client emails. That is very very rare in the programming industry. C2 client service is top notch. C2 support for ancient equipment is unbelievable -- it's been decades since the PM3 was last sold (2006?), yet C2 cares enough to ensure a version of ergdata still works with it and that parts are still available for the decades old erg it shipped with.
Compare with phone makers (Google, Samsung, etc) who drop security fixes for their products after 3 or 4 years and who's programming staff is totally inaccessible. Try working with them when your phone-mail doesn't work. Or as zdnet says "...the iPhone 6 was released in September 2014. Owners of these models might have already abandoned them because important apps, like banking apps, often don't work on older versions of iOS. ..."

Re: ErgData 2.0 is horrible!
Synchronisation is a pretty tough subject, especially if you are dependent on bluetooth clients with litterally hunderds of different implementations. As one of the lead developpers of Open Rowing Monitor I can tell from first hand experience in implementing the PM5 interface, the PM5 is extremely data rich but it is also state dependent and pretty tough to serialize. This is an interface spec where it took us weeks to implement (the competing FTMS standard took hours for two profiles) and we only implemented the critical half of it. Don't assume that it is simple because the GUI is straightforward.
I reported five bugs so far, all were logged nicely and reported back to me when it got fixed. I must say I've seen much worse interactions with developpers.
