Wouldn't it make more sense to go back to ErgZone, as it is functionally richer, also works well and even records several metrics with more accuracy than Concept2 does?

So yes, ErgData just froze on me this morning after completing my cool down session. Screen just wouldn’t budge. No amount of tapping in the top left “save options” had any impact. Saving the session on the PM5 had no impact. Closing the app had no impact. Resorted to shutting my phone down and restarting and that woke it up. Moved my session to a USB to capture meters to the logbook through the C2 Utility. 1st time I have had this sort of experienced since the initial 2.0 update. If that was common then the frustration level could inch up. As it is, just a minor annoyance today.

I don't understand why people hate so much the new version. It simply has more informations available and more customisable. Old version strictly had similar informations than on PM5 screen which was quite useless. Maybe you would prefere some other apps, but you just can't compare new to old ergdata.

It refers not to its information or functionality, it points directly to its stability.
Until now I had only one single issue which caused data loss on a workout, so I am really satisfied. But if I imagine to have problems in several wotkouts, connection problems, whatever, I would also hate to not be able to focus on the main thing - rowing.

As an update to my earlier post ..

I noticed that there were two updates to the ios ErgData app this week. I updated it - it's now version 2.09(1).
I loaded the WOD (4x1500m with 2 minutes rest) from the app to the PM5. It appeared to update the PM5 correctly.
I started rowing. The PM5 and the app started in sync.
Interval 1 was good
Interval 2 stopped with 500m to row.
I kept rowing, then I noticed that the interval had reset to Interval 1. I just stopped the workout. I'll go work in the yard - pruning a shrub will be therapeutic after this experience.

This is really crazy stuff. My PM5 is from 2017. Firmware version 171. Hardware version 621. The comments for the ios updates indicate fixes for PM5 version 1. How do I know if I have version 1?

The PM5 is about 4 feet from my iphone. I don't know why the bluetooth connection would be dropping at that distance.

So I’ll just quote myself as same thing happened again today. 2nd time for me. I have notified C2 so we will see. Since this is random I expect it’s a little harder to track down than say Drag Factor was. ErgData version 2.0.10(2). Other than these minor issues I think the new and improved ErgData is a solid improvement.

Quick response from C2. They say they have this issue identified and the fix will be released next week. May only be an IOS issue based on their response. Anyway quick turnaround.

For the past three days when trying to save my workout in the app it stopped syncing with the PM5 so my workout was saved in the PM5 but not the app. Each time I have had to upload the workout via USB, like you. Wouldn't it be simpler to improve the syncing function so that you could sync history in the PM5 with the App, instead of all this messing around with my laptop, cable and C2 Utility. Luckily, I workout at home, but it may be a pain in the bum for those who workout at their local gyms.

New ergdata app has been awesome here. Works well, looks better, some new features... Love it.

Probably not perfect - I did lose a workout after upgrading, but not sure whether that was app or user error. I'm on Android, so maybe iOS version is flakier?

I sympathize with the haters though. Everyone wants something that just works without hassle. If the app is failing for them, no wonder they're frustrated. Fingers crossed that continued updates fix things soon.
