Time crunch to get 7:00 2k

Post by Dexter » July 8th, 2022, 9:39 pm

Hey all,

I recently got a concept2, about 2 weeks ago. Prior to me getting it, I’d never rowed. I have a test in 5 weeks that I’m
trying to get a 7:00 for the 2k. I am 5’11 and 195lb. From what I’m reading here it takes 6+ months of training to get to that level, but that seems a bit long. I think 1-2 months is very doable. I will report back within 6 weeks with my time. Pray for me

Hi, amount of needed training is very depending on your starting point. My first 2k was 6:58, but I did not start from zero.
If you already did several sessions per week in other activities you could be right. You get to know your starting point in doing a benchmark 2k right now.

That's a really solid result after such a short period of training. Many people will never achieve it, so you should be proud.
