The cure mixed, I lined the album up, original then remix one track at a time, bookmarking is a doddle on the Walkman.

Some tracks, sound amateur, but three tracks are awesome. I worked in Trinidad for a few years in the 90s, and I swear it's almost a reggae back beat he's got going on there, well chilled and well mixed overall.
I listened to Mixed Up again yesterday and I remembered it as being more consistently good. Still a good album, but not what I remembered.

I also listened to Stone Roses 'Second Coming' today and forgot how good it is.

Apart from that I've listened to recently, amongst others:

-Royal Blood 'Royal Blood' (a great rock album),
-Too Many Ts 'All Good Good' (a funky hiphop album)
-Jitwam 'Third' (an eclectic album based around funk & soul, really love this one)
-Coldplay 'Everyday Life' (you know what they're like)
-The Kooks '10 Tracks to Echo In The Dark' (indie)
-Ben Harper 'Bloodline Maintenance' (could be a soul album from the late 60's)
-Bibi Tanga & The Selenites '40° of Sunshine' (great African funky soulful pop)
-Kingston Shuffle (a great reggae compilation)
- Joni Haastrup 'Wake Up Your Mind' (funky African music)

As you can see my tastes are very eclectic, but funk plays a big part in lots of it.

And lots of dance tunes as I'm making a lot of house mixes for my rowing sessions

I've ordered jitwam third, it's got to be worth a listen.
And Kingston shuffle, you can't beat a good recommendation 👍😎

I almost forgot, in fact it was a long time ago, I found a cd, which I bought but never played because I read in nme at the time that they had played at one of the cures weddings, which went a long way towards the purchase £7.99 the receipt was still in the hmv bag with the CD in an old trunk...
Played for the first time today, thirty odd years late
Heaven or Las Vegas / Cocteau twins
Sounds like the bastard child of post punk, dance and rock.
You'll love it if you havnt got it already 👍😎

I love Jitwam, but he's excelled himself on this one. Really ear-arresting!

I'm a sucker for a reggae compilation, and this one is particularly good, with some artists / bands I've not heard before. It amazes me how many there are in soul, reggae and funk from the 60s and 70s

I've got a few of them uploaded to Soundcloud if you're interested. I don't publicise them at all, mainly because I can't be bothered, so I don't really know why I upload them. I've got loads more, and they're based around rowing a HM. So, at circa 45 mins they're beginning to peak to try and distract myself from the discomfort

Some crackers there. I need to give Plastic Beach another listen as I forget how good it is. Jilted Generation is their best, and brings back great memories

I think that's the thing about the gorillaz, I have every album and on the first listening of each album it feels like a favorite album right off the bat, so much so that I look forward to each album, almost knowing I'm going to love at least a couple of tracks.
I have a love hate relationship with the prodigy, voodoo people and full throttle remind me of my bike years obviously, and I had all my prodigy albums on a Sony 1gig mp3 which I used to hang around my neck, I had three of these, only one survives today, and is usable.
The difference between today's walkman and my 2001 sony mp3. Album for album is out and out quality of music, I thought it was great at the time, 😂
I agree with you, "jilted' is without doubt their best album, by the time they got to fat of the land they lost the edge in my opinion.

If you enjoy your reggae, why not give Eek-a-Mouse a try, if you haven't already - very mellow, i often listen to them while rowing.

Now, if we're getting on to mellow reggae, I'd also highly recommend: Misty In Roots, Burning Spear, Zap Pow, The Dynamics (Version Excursions; their version of Rolling Stones 'Miss You' is excellent), the Easy Star All Stars (dub cover albums of Radiohead, The Beatles, Michael Jackson & Pink Floyd are all great) and Mishka (mainly his early stuff, as he's got a bit commercial)

Also I'd suggest Jehro, but it's not really reggae, just similar.

Eek a mouse, the very title makes me want to get a copy, thanks for the sign post Paul 👍😎

That's an amazing list DS, that's a couple of months budget, Im buying second hand ripping them to a one terabite minidisc (not a minidisc but you know what I mean) on my Sony laptop then transfering out to the 1tb minidisc on the Walkman, the laptops only job is to process music, I think I've future proofed the system as much as possible.
The laptop is not much use for anything else running Windows 10,mcafee, it has a 250 gig hard drive which chuggs along. I guess about 100gigs of new music a year imported at 320, all things being good, it should last my lifetime 😂.
The ifi mobile amp is just an amazing addition to my system, with my limited budget. The only problem I have is that I can't charge my walkman while it's playing and plugged into the amp.
Which really is a small price to play for the quality of music I'm getting.
For mellow music I'm listening to
Pink Floyd/ wish you were here / I'm on my second copy of darkside and echoes, gorillaz /laika come home
Some classic blues brothers. REM /out of time.
18/moby. Volare/ gypsy Kings.
The chill out sessions ministry of sound, favourites/2001/2002
Some classic motown, and some acid jazz/ matt Berry. Fleetwood mac, 10cc, Simon and garfunkle, paolo nutini, Jack Jones.

Eek a mouse has got to make the listing because of the title 😂
I'll let you have my honest opinion paul👍😎
I'll be glad when the weather breaks and I can row again, even at night it's 28 degrees in my bedroom, rowing room.

I have the stones grrr deluxe triple disc version, I've been waiting so I can donate an afternoon listening to it, tomorrow may well be that day.

"Wa-do-dem" is my favourite - another of their albums is "Eek-a-nomics", or you could just try "The Best Of" which has a lot of "Wa-Do_Dem" and "Skidip".

I first listened to this music lying lightly stoned on a Cape Town beach thinking "there's got to be more to life than this - but I hope not"
Happy listening.

Hahaha, I remember when I first heard Toots & The Maytals. I was travelling Australia, and didn't have much money but I had to go and buy their greatest hits album to listen to in the car when we drove around. 'Funky Kingston' totally stopped me in my tracks.

A musical life moment to cherish.
