I listened to Mixed Up again yesterday and I remembered it as being more consistently good. Still a good album, but not what I remembered.Holly62 wrote: ↑August 9th, 2022, 5:38 amThe cure mixed, I lined the album up, original then remix one track at a time, bookmarking is a doddle on the Walkman.
Some tracks, sound amateur, but three tracks are awesome. I worked in Trinidad for a few years in the 90s, and I swear it's almost a reggae back beat he's got going on there, well chilled and well mixed overall.
I also listened to Stone Roses 'Second Coming' today and forgot how good it is.
Apart from that I've listened to recently, amongst others:
-Royal Blood 'Royal Blood' (a great rock album),
-Too Many Ts 'All Good Good' (a funky hiphop album)
-Jitwam 'Third' (an eclectic album based around funk & soul, really love this one)
-Coldplay 'Everyday Life' (you know what they're like)
-The Kooks '10 Tracks to Echo In The Dark' (indie)
-Ben Harper 'Bloodline Maintenance' (could be a soul album from the late 60's)
-Bibi Tanga & The Selenites '40° of Sunshine' (great African funky soulful pop)
-Kingston Shuffle (a great reggae compilation)
- Joni Haastrup 'Wake Up Your Mind' (funky African music)
As you can see my tastes are very eclectic, but funk plays a big part in lots of it.
And lots of dance tunes as I'm making a lot of house mixes for my rowing sessions
