Anna- Yes, Linda is back...it was a long three months after breaking her femur...she is getting close to tossing her cane. And she is anxious to build up her fitness so she can chase you again

It was great rowing month for our family. We essentially floated our own boat Linda and I rowed...my son Josh and his long-time partner Leah VonDerheide were visiting us for a couple weeks and they got on our rower. With Josh rowing, that fired up the sibling rivalry and his brother Kyle rowed too

Josh and Leah have been living up your way the past 18 months in Calgary. They have been bouncing around the last decade as Leah is a college professor hoping to find a tenure-track job. She was teaching at University of Calgary. But she finally got a tenure-track job at Emerson College in Boston, and they are in the process of moving there. They loved Calgary! But now happy to put down roots in Boston. And Boston should have plenty of Concept 2 rowers so hopefully they will continue to row for our team and fuel the intra-Voorhees rivalry

Hey Marc. I thought it was ‘cheaper by the dozen’. Why did you stop at 3? Still, grandkids and additional RBM may give you a shot at clan Calonius.

Was a little worried that I had dropped the ball when I saw Jack's suggestion that I could write it up and send it to Dave - but then I saw that Dave had posted it on the CTC forum so we are good to go. If it turns out to be a horrible challenge for us, you can all throw virtual rotten tomatoes at me.

It's looking like a suggestion that is going down well based on the lack of complaints on the Facebook group, so no worries there . They normally don't hold back if something isn't acceptable, so it looks like a good session for people.

I'd hoped to get an early shot at it, but picked up a cold yesterday, so taking it easy for now.

Emerson College in Boston? Hey, are either Josh or Leah military veterans? At CRI on the Charles River I row in a military/veterans group that is FREE for us. Plenty of room in our boats is they qualify.

Trying to get back to regular sessions for Dog Days challenge but the new ED for PM5 is buggy as a picnic! Sometimes the only way forward is retro.

On a different note, I am on vacation and have been putting in a fair amount of running mileage and subsisting on ice cream and croissants. One of the hotels offered a guest pass to a local gym with some ergs, and I took a stab at the cross team challenge. I paced it very similarly to a recent 4x1000/5:00r, which was about perfect with the short rest.

Hi Elizabeth. I’m pretty certain I know or did when I took the foto. Day later my wife drilled me on using new ErgData for PM5 release and I no longer need this lashup which was not much more than getting flywheel signal to the older PM4 and cabling to ED for PM3 and 4 on my phone. Afraid my typical response to novel technological swamp gas involves dragging a lot of junk out of mothballs and swearing it was better than the new stuff.

At my age, I get cold sweats thinking about the expression ‘perfect with the short rest.’. Always on deck for carbs! Don't tell my A1C.

Oh believe me, the short rests weren't perfect, but the pacing felt about right. If it weren't for the short rest breaks, I would generally expect 3x888 to be a little speedier than 4x1000.
