Thanks, found it all. Every single box can be set to whatever number we want. Did so, and unsurpringly the hard work then began.

I just lost two workouts today. One just row warmup and more importantly an interval workout. Disconnected and closed the app on my phone after the first hiccup. Anybody else who previously had mostly good luck with the app suddenly having problems?
I did. Participated in the Beta, so I did quite a lot of workouts on the new version. Suddenly last week I lost a timebased or distance based workout. Thankfully I had EXR attached which can upload to C2 as well (attached to OpenRowingMonitor) and the PM5 provided me with a verificationcode, so nothing was lost but the splits. Still anoyed me as I want to compare results between the two.

They did provide an update a couple of days ago that promissed to fix "Just ride is not saved to logbook".

The volume of information you can opt to consume through the ergdata display during a workout has felt overwhelming to me at times. I think I'm zeroing in on what is right for me, but early on found myself selecting one or two data options that weren't available in previous versions of ergdata, and finding that they were peripheral or inconsequential to the goals of my workouts.

I've had a thumb drive in my PM5, so my workouts were getting saved there at least. I have not yet lost a workout off both the PM5 saving to USB and ergdata, so I at least get the bare bones information, but there's some data lost, as the USB only stores the overall and split/interval averages + end of split/interval heart rates, so I can't look at a pretty graph and see where my heart rate spiked or remark that my stroke rate is super inconsistent, or whatever my nitpick of the day is.

That brings up a question. I understand for some reason that if you have a USB drive in your PM5 and use ERGData, the ERGData program will not upload/sync with the online logbook for some reason and also would update Garmin Connect. It used to do that before the big update. Now it requires using the Concept2 utility to upload to the online logbook and doesn't update Garmin Connect. Other than not using the USB Drive during a workout, is there a workaround? :?:

Nope, I've been using such a combination for months now, and just with one glitch. I have a USB stick in there permenantly as well.

~80% of my workouts with ErgData 2.0 have been smooth, even with the USB drive in the PM5. At the end of a workout ErgData usually would save my workout to my logbook, which would automatically upload to my Garmin Connect and Strava, and the PM5 has always (so far) saved the workout to the USB drive. It was just once on one day and twice on one other day that ErgData glitched and didn't save the workout.

I did just read on another thread that there's supposedly a processing issue for PM5 when both a USB and Bluetooth device are connected. So maybe my setup is to blame. I'm reluctant to ditch the thumb drive, because I am unsure if the PM5 will store the workout locally if ErgData crashes again, but I think I'll set that reluctance aside for the sake of troubleshooting. It's just workout data after all.

I used your set up for a long time without issue. But C2 says in the App Store info not to use a USB device in conjunction with ErgData. So I pulled my USB when I updated. So far so good.

Right, I saw that note about not using a USB with ErgData. But that note is new with this new version of ErgData. It was supported in the old version AFAIK. I'm the only user of my C2, so I can switch to not using a USB drive, but it impacts folks who use shared machines. I hope they can fix the issue. Thanks all for your responses.

Double check USB drive support with Ergdata attached. AFAIK it was not supported on the old ergdata version either. But it mostly worked.

There are several hardware versions of the PM5. It would be surprising if they all performed the same, so it could be some the the PM5 restrictions are listed for all PM5 but actually are critical for only one HW version.

I cannot believe I've been waiting and waiting since I heard about ErgData 2.0, and this horrible trash is what we get. Granted, it's free to use, so no sense in complaining, but it doesn't even work. I set up the workout, begin to row, and nothing happens. Then I stop set it up again, and then it works. It's as if it's deliberately trying to waste my time. Very disappointed.

I've been continuing to work with their tech folks over the lost workouts, and more importantly, the Fish Game functionality. The app is now on v2.0.1, and they were hoping it would help. I also did a firmware update on the PM5. My last PM5 update had been in Feb 2022, so it wasn't horribly out of date, but it also wasn't current.

I haven't had any lost workouts since, which is really positive. Today's Fish Game somehow posted to my log twice, so it's not perfect.

Is there a newer firmware version than the December 2021 version???

That's a good question, and the more look, the more I don't have a good answer. I had firmware version 210. I needed to use ErgRace earlier this month, and when I was testing it, it recommended an update. I told it to proceed and it did something to the PM5 that took ballpark 45 minutes. I'm now on firmware version 210. I wonder if there is some sub-versioning that I'm not seeing (210.0 vs 210.1 for example).

I suspect the bigger thing at play is the minor ErgData update from v2.0.0 to v.2.0.1.
