The new ErgData is quite nice compared to the old application. The data screens with graphs on them are very nicely done!

This past weekend was a busy one (probably for all of you as well !). When some of the new bike laws were passed, one of the items that bike groups were tasked with was to work to educate the public in general. For this purpose, we chose to go to some festivals with diverse populations - and a lot of those populations might not necessarily include a large percentage of bicyclists. So we chose the theme of "we speak e-bike" and brought mountain ebikes (featured in the photo), and road bikes. There are some rebates for e-bike purchases in some parts of the state, but it is not statewide for sure. The bikes were a big draw - as were two of our table volunteers who have been riding sections of the Great Divide trail. These are Class I, pedal-assist bikes that do not have a throttle, and can't get an assist that is greater than 20 mph. Most popular questions: (1) do you have trail maps? and (2) when are e-bike rebates going to be statewide? Biggest complaints about cyclists we heard: wearing earbuds while riding and not saying passing on your left! We talked with a LOT of people! Our setting was Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield's Lavender Festival - it was beautiful !

Image Meteor showers....lots of them!

Normally at this time of year, we're all looking towards the night sky to see how many meteors we can spot racing across the sky. And this would be kind of a peak time for viewing the Perseids. Our destination moon is hampering our views this year, but there are several other meteor showers of a lesser nature that will be great to see. Next weekend (peak is July 30) is a good opportunity to find a good spot to throw down that air mattress (where you will surely be joined by your dog(s) if you have them, grandkids if you have them, and other friends) and watch the sky. Peak viewing is from 1AM to 4 AM on most of these, so Minnie might be one of the Lunies that has the best chance to see the show produced by the Delta Aquarids. Busy on July 30? This meteor shower will be visible until August 23rd! Great time to be camping in an international dark sky area!

Yesterday's late capture of the stats has artificially reduced today's numbers!

I'm on it ... all set to sit outside, with my black cat (and, hopefully, no skunks), for an hour or so, and watch the night skies.
