Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Granddads!
Team Progress Thru 6.18.22
Father's Day also coincides with the Juneteenth Challenge! Might be good to hit the erg before all those BBQs and family gatherings! I hope it is a great day for all our Lunie Dads!
Juneteenth Challenge
June 19
On June 19, 1865, General Gordon Granger stood on a balcony in Galveston, Texas and declared that all previously enslaved people in Texas were now free. This day is now celebrated widely in America as Juneteenth, and remembered as a day of freedom and emancipation.
For every person who takes part in our Juneteenth Challenge and completes more than 1900m, we will donate an additional $2 up to a maximum total of $38,000.
The Details
Row, ski or ride on June 19. Note: BikeErg meters are counted as half when applied to the challenge.
Meters can be done all at once in one workout or over several workouts throughout the day.
This is an individual challenge. (You do not need to belong to a team to participate.)
Meters must be entered online.
RowErg, SkiErg, BikeErg, on water and on snow meters count. You can combine meters.

20 Lunies finished the Juneteenth Challenge - good work!
And tomorrow (or today for Kevin and Angelo and others across the dateline) is the Summer Solstice Challenge!
Summer Solstice Challenge...a favorite of mine!
June 21
In honor of the longest day of the year, we invite you to participate in the Summer Solstice Challenge.
The Details
Row, ski or ride 21,000 meters on June 21.
Note: BikeErg meters are counted as half when applied to the challenge.
Meters can be done all at once in one workout (Set Up a Single Distance Workout) or over several workouts throughout the day.
If you add 97 meters to row/ski 21,097 meters, or a half-marathon, it needs to be rowed/skied all at once in order to qualify to be a ranked piece.
This is an individual challenge. There is no sign up. You do not need to belong to a team to participate.
Meters must be entered online.
Indoor rower, SkiErg, BikeErg, on water and on snow meters count. You can combine meters to reach 21,000 meters.

Whoop, whoop and way to celebrate Summmmr with the Summmr Challenge to Judy, Tombeur, Norma, David A, and K2! Good stuff, and it was a longish batch of erging for me!
Today is Bike to Work Day here in Colorado, and there was much to do since we were hosting a bike to work day station with Jefferson County Wellness. This station even had a Bike Blender to make mango or spinach smoothies (you know which ones were more popular!) Quite an assortment of riders came through the station! There were a bunch of guys from Yeti Bicycles, who put the bikes together as they come in from places like VietNam. Naturally they wanted to give the Bike Blender a go! The Bike Blender is a Rock The Bike product that I'd never heard of before. We learned some new things!

BikeErg World Sprints
July 6-10, 2022
The BikeErg World Sprints are a virtual BikeErg championship. To take part you just need to ride a single workout of exactly 4000m between July 6-10 and enter it in your logbook by July 11 21:00 GMT (17:00 ET).
We have 17 bike erger Lunies...this one is for you!
At the beginning of the 2023 season (May 1 2022), I thought about establishing a baseline for all the different erg ranking distances...at least for the bike erg. Part of that is to keep an eye on that slippery slope of capability and aging and all that stuff that supplies the motivation to keep on erging to hold back the forces of time. So far, I'd only calibrated the 20K level. Here's an opportunity to knock another one off the baseline list!
I am curious about whether or not other bike ergers wonder if they will ever return to the row erg? For a couple years, I just could not push the knee on the row erg. But I think it's a better overall workout than the bike erg, and am determined to return to it - perhaps like Minnie and danwho who use both machines (and others may as well, but I know that these two do so).
