-- Welcome back, Sabrina...best wishes on your continued recovery!

-- Our team will be without my wife Linda for several more months. At the beginning of May she had a freak fall and broke her femur :-( On crunches and likely non-weight bearing for 8-12 weeks. She is attacking her rehab the same way we she attacks the erg....slow and steady :-)

-- Just saw Elisabeth's time on this month's challenge. Awe inspiring for us mere mortals :-) Great job, Elisabeth!

Wow, Mark, I'm sorry to her that about Linda. Tough times for her, indeed. I wish her the best.

Marc - Yikes! Sorry to hear about Linda - that is rough going. But slow and steady is the best path to recovery from such a break

Elizabeth is leading all the Flyers so far in this month's 5 k - way to go!

Best wishes Linda. I'm not surprised that you're attacking rehab. I predict that you'll return to full speed in due time.

I've just realised I am on a boat in the may c2ctc
I got suddenly ill, was admitted to hospital early December and was in hospital & rehab until May. Lost 9 kg and all my muscles, back up 5 now. First time back on the rower was early April; 1k in 6:45, now down to 5:22. Long way to go but I try help float boats again. Not sure though I can row 5k. Hopefully by the end of the month
Wow, glad to hear things have come right, and you're on the way to recovery. People come and go in the team forum and events, but you never expect to see serious illness as a reason.

Any time for the 5k will help float a boat, so don't worry if you have to sit there taking a rest while the clock is still ticking over!

All the best to Linda for a good recovery. We'll miss the combo meters you two push out on the challenges, but it won't be long before she's back so we can be patient :).

So sorry to hear about Linda! I broke my ankle in December 2017 in an accident that involved a very boring story, and my husband came up with a much more colorful version of events that involved a fight at Costco for the last Nintendo Switch. He had some people going, but then his uncle pointed out that Costco would never have just one Nintendo Switch left, and he should have chosen a different store.

Slow and steady wins the race. It will come, but it's hard mentally. Best of luck with her rehab.

Sabrina, same with you! Hopefully (for your sake and not just floating boats) you'll be feeling well enough for 5k by month end, but if not, I'm sure it will come eventually. Hang in there.

And Marc, thanks for the congrats! That was a PR.

Two things.

1. I think Penny Glew, lightweight female, made a wee error in entering her CTC time. Might be worth checking it out and correcting it. Good to have her floating a boat though.

2. Holy Guacamole Batman! Elizabeth is totally killing it! Fantastic 5K to go along with the rest of her fine rowing of late. Congratulations!

Glew’s entry looks like a bad mixture of liquid hydrogen and the decimal point! Best lay back and somebody on sub-7 will complain @ CTC comps thread and demand revision or removal. On the other thing, ditto.

Penny is a great little (Lwt) rower, who sits in bow seat in a very nice mixed 4x which we used to row. She's so fast she sometimes doesn't leave puddles  I've sent her a txt so I expect she'll get round to fixing her time.
Three cheers for Elizabeth - nice :D

Hi, does anybody know how I can reset my password on the C2CTC challenge site? I have tried the initial one but appears I’ve changed it previously from that! Hoping can get it fixed to put my time on from my effort this morning.lol

Martin, go to training subforum, subcategory=competition, Cross Team Challenge—Discussion Thread. Request password reset from Dougie (AKA Citroen).

Excellent. Penny could probably teach me a thing or two then. I took up OTW when I retired and still have lots to learn. Good to have her aboard.

Haven't been erging much in June - went over the handlebars while zooming down a hill near the end of May. Nothing broken but managed to tweak my back (apparently going from 27 kph to 0 kph in 1 second is a bit jarring on the body). Was taking it easy for a few weeks and started back on the erg mid-June. Slowly made it back to being able to row 5 k and posted a time for this month's CTC. A full 1:30 slower than the 5 k I did the day before my tumble - but it got Boat IV floating (Thanks also to our fearless Team Captain, who posted his result just before I posted mine.)

I see we are up for setting the August Challenge for CTC. How do we go about proposing suggestions? (I know it is still a bit early but the time off the erg left me time to dream up some things.)

July gets a bit busy for me, so in case I forget, I would like to submit the following suggestion for August (the 8th month of the year):
Crazy Eights - Triple Crown
3 intervals of 888 m with 88 s (1:28) of rest between the intervals
