I've cleaned mine really good with a non harsh cleaner and there's still some discoloration around the ends. And regardless of how clean they are, I can still feel some clicking. When do you actually replace these? From what I've read, they last a long time and cleaning them eliminates that clicking but that hasn't been the case with mine.

How old / used up are the bearings? Do they spin smoothly if you lift the seat off the rail?

(I'm assuming that you've also cleaned the rail, and it too is smooth.)

I switched to 2RS or the rubber sealed bearings in the seat rollers years ago. If you sweat a lot the standard seat roller bearings fail.

You just tap the standard bearings out of the white/grey plastic roller housing using a long drift from the opposite side and replace them.

The standard bearings are Chinese, I switched to a Japanese bearing.

Rail is clean too. I think these rollers are original from 2006.

Do you still have the mineral spirits and motor oil handy? It looks like the rollers have ball bearings in them, which might be dirty and/or dry.

Do you know how many meters you have on your rower? Mine is 2003 and I estimate 8 million (PM3 resets to 0 with firmware upgrade, and I've had to empty my logcard, which currently read about 2m and 3m respectively). I haven't had the problems you report.

The standard bearing is an R6ZZ from memory, switch to the R6-2RS version from just about any bearing & seal shop near you or as cheap as chips on E-Bay if your in the USA.

If you really want to go all out that size is available in a full Ceramic bearing.

Yep...I'd pick up some of these for the price they cost rather than try to fix your old ones. The latest redesigned ones seem a bit harder wearing to me, and don't seem to attract grime so much either. Treated myself to some a couple of years ago - the original rollers on my 2005 Model D seemed to have gotten out of round and were 'bumpy'.

Shoot thanks. That's a better option. I'll order them. Just watched a vid on how to remove rollers so pretty easy. Then again, I might end up cleaning and oiling them while I'm waiting and perhaps that'll take care of it and the new rollers can sit on the same shelf as the new flywheel I still haven't needed. LoL.

The old ones just get tapped out from the opposite side using a drift steel rod or a blade screwdriver. The fit is pretty loose in the Nylon.

Personally I prefer a top quality Japanese bearing like SKF or NSK or NTN but that's up to you.

SKF is Swedish, it is an abreviation of "Svenska Kullagerfabriken". They used to be a big employer here as well (several buildings and sportsclubs where I live still bear their name). But their bearings are good indeed.

I’ve just popped some R6 2RS bearings in. Very easy and runs very smoothly and quietly..

My rower is just over 5500km in two years. I recently noticed the seat is a little wobbly and I can hear occasionally clicking sounds.
Those rollers are touching the top of rail at only three points and never at four points.
Should I replace the top rollers? I would appreciate any advices on this issue.
