Old C2 Forum people, where are they now?

Post by MarkD1 » May 3rd, 2022, 12:51 pm

How many rowers are still plugging away since the old C2 forum died? I'm just getting back into things after a lengthy lay off and wondered who is still out there.

C2 forum was fantastic and sorely missed.

Pete Marston (PPlan), Chris Hoy, Pirate, Roy, Harry aka scoop.lol, Nik F, citreon (of course), Jonathan Bone, and so many more to mention. Both men and women of course as there were some Big names in there too.

Just wondering

Mark

I was on there from 2003. Not many on here, most moved to other places like FB.

I was like you - came back at the end of 2016 after a 3+ year break from the erg and everything had changed - took me a while to settle into what I found in the new world. Also a real shame we all lost our blogs/data that we'd built up over several years. As Nick says the majority appear to now be in faceborg groups (most teams are) while others post their training on Twattor or other social meedya. None of the old set you mention are active here. Nav was here for quite a while, but stopped posting over a year ago soon after moving to Poland. Dougie still makes sure we all behave and have something that works to look at. There's also a core of pretty active newer poster's on here - mainly in the Training and PB threads and its pretty supportive just as people used to be in the old blogs. Henry was another stalwart from the old days who was very active here but has been much less so over the last year or so having stepped back a lot due to persistent injuries. Miss the banter with the Canadian's too ... no one quite as funny as Mike Podolsky used to be.

I am also still here, and plugging away. I don't use social media, and this forum is still fine for me.
I think I started on here in the mid-late 1990s.

Don't know any of these names as I am one of the very new guys 😄
But this forum and its users feel very supportive and friendly, so it is fun to post 👍🏻

still rowing, still LWT and BikeErging as often as I can 6:38.7 was a long time ago
Good to see some of the ‘Old Gang” are still around.
In regular contact with Denis Hastings and not so regular with one or two of the other guys who got this sport out there

I’ve been around since 2006 and still check in here occasionally. I’ve never posted much, though.
