Behold the dragon fruit...in season in some locales. I'm pretty sure I've never seen this at my local grocers, but perhaps some of you have. This fruit tastes somewhat like a kiwi fruit, and has a lot of seeds like the kiwi. But this is a SUPERfruit...one to add if you can find it. Better than Cheerios in terms of cholesterol aiding, heart healthy, lots of fiber, antioxidants, and suppresses arthritis, soothes sunburned skin...and more! Minnie will be investigating this further I'm sure. This is one brightly colored item that isn't dangerous.

Mistakenly congratulationed Chip instead of Ron for the 8 MM - but I've got it straightened out now! This is a multi-year achievement for Ron!

The Last Erging Day of 2022 Season! This is it !!!

Post by Kona2 » April 30th, 2022, 12:14 pm

It's the 11th hour of the erging season....and some will want to know where we are in our lunar journey (number 6!):

Our 5th lunar landing occurred on October 6th, 2021....and at that time our team meter total was 52,190,051 m. Subtracting that from where we are now says we are 94,376,601 m towards the total meters needed for the next lunar landing. It is likely that the next lunar landing will be a 2024 occurrence - but this could indeed change !

I will do my best to capture a snapshot of where we are at close of day! But some years I miss it!

MILESTONES...Bragging Rights....Celebrations:

9.55 MM Wild Bill
9.1 MM Chip
8.05 MM Ron
4.6 MM David A

Happy New Erging Year !! 2023

Post by Kona2 » May 1st, 2022, 10:28 am

No matter which version of The Magnificent Seven you've watched, it's a good western with high drama. There's action, what seems like impossible odds, each individual believes they control their destiny, and there's victory over those impossible odds. And so it was when the stats were pulled this AM, that we had a magnificent seven on the roster. These Lunies got on their respective erg steeds early, and logged some meters while the rest of us were still asleep. If one of your unspoken goals is to get meters in on the first (and last!) days of the erging season, your erg awaits!

I forget about Eastern Standard Time, every single year! Being someone who is happily exercising around midnight ... Saturday night's meters just disappeared into the 2021 black hole. I should have logged them as May-1, and you'd have to have found a new movie title to channel! (Oooh ... must watch Eight Below, again. Cute dog movie.)

Wow :o
Under the circumstances, I might suggest this one. Haven't seen it, not sure why, but I can imagine Quentin coming up with this one if his late night meters just disappeared.

No rain in space, but happily there is rain in our drought-stricken state today! For perspective, we usually get 6 inches of rain in April...and we got .06 inches instead. Might be a grety sky day, but sure to find a rainbow in it somewhere!

I have done a century before, for me the key is getting off the bike every so often and walking around a bit, and having good padding on the seat! Yesterday's ride was an imperial century/100 miles in my "other" on-line community (Zwift). I earned a nifty Zwift badge for riding that distance... see below!

Once again, MANY thanks to danwho for keeping the stats infrastructure going! When the season starts, so does a whole new spreadsheet! And today is a BONANZA with 16 Lunies returning for their first meters of the season! Good to see the roster expanding! We are in a much different place than our first stats year of 14 Lunies....

I figured the new season was as good a time as any to start back up! We had our second son about 7 weeks ago, and I intended to start rowing again during paternity leave, but his sleep schedule had other ideas...
Started rowing 4/22/19.
PBs: 1min - 314m, 500m - 1:40.0, 1,000m - 3:45.3, 4min - 1,082m, 2,000m - 7:41.0, 5.000m - 21:18.2, 6,000m - 25:41.6, 30min - 7,010m, 10k - 44:40.5, 60min - 13,112m
