Concept 2 Erg - PM3
Re: Concept 2 Erg - PM3
Life can get complicated...
I have a PM3 on my Model C at home, but the vast majority of my kms are on a Model E at the gym I use at work. As it turns out, that one has a PM4, not a PM5, but either way, I just scribble my rowing numbers in the "little black notebook" I use to track my weightlifting info.
Good luck with your rowing.

Thanks Ombrax.
I find it interesting that the C2 online register allows for manual entry, allowing anyone to enter any information - even super human efforts can be logged but not even attempted. Over the years, I have read numerous cheating related posts within the ZWIFT (online bike training) environment whereby users employ creative ways to upload super human times, watts, etc. - and sort of destroys the goodwill of the majority of users who input their information honestly.
How does the C2 online register manage unrealistic / 'extraordinary' ROW ERG efforts being uploaded into the database by unscrupulous users?

Re: Concept 2 Erg - PM3
OK thank you Ombrax.
I apologize if I have missed something there but....
This verification code system seems to work only with electronic transfers from the PM units?
What about manual entries (eg. from scribbled down inputs from PM3 on paper and then physically type these same inputs into the C2 online register)?

Re: Concept 2 Erg - PM3
I've never used the verification code (I don't have a C2 logbook "account") but I'm pretty sure that the verification code does not need to be transmitted electronically. The PM creates it based on your workout and displays it. You then write it down, create the online logbook entry with the data regarding your workout, then manually enter the VC generated by your PM. It's a pita, but if you want to look at C2 rankings (see link below) you can specify that you only want to see verified data, which will filter out the non-verified stuff. (which addresses your original question about "fake entries" on the logbook)

Re: Concept 2 Erg - PM3
The log is your own personal log, not the ledger of world records. You can rank workouts and you can indicate that Personal Records for a season can be shared, but people will probably only fool themselves. As said, the log will record if it is a verified result, so people take a personal record less serious when it is unverified.
For official world records, people will have to present the verification code, or do it at an official race (see https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/ ... quirements).
But as I am a humble mortal, and thus won't even get close to world records, I use the manual log when I am on a machine in a local gym without the hassle of the verification code. Unverified results are accepted for the million meters club.

Nope, you can copy it by hand (see https://www.concept2.com/service/monito ... ation-code).

I can't tell if your "nope" is confirming or denying what I posted, but I believe that we're in violent agreement.JaapvanE wrote: ↑April 28th, 2022, 1:35 amNope, you can copy it by hand (see https://www.concept2.com/service/monito ... ation-code).

Correction, the result is totally ignored and can now be nicely filtered out.

Re: Concept 2 Erg - PM3
I visited the Gym yesterday and tried to write down the details of my previous workouts recorded by the PM3.
I tried all the menu buttons but could not dive into these workouts to extract SPM, time, etc....
How do I access these details from these previous row events from the PM3?

I tried to get Concept 2 to scrap the manual entry system years ago but it appears all you need is one PM2 user left in the whole world who screams and waves their arms in the air and everyone else has to suffer with total crap at the top of leader boards.
The move to verified only results is coming in the next year or so, its taken forever. If you want a leader board with verified only results its finally going to be an option.
