Thanks! I hadn't noticed it. Just re-entered my score.Marcvo17 wrote: ↑March 31st, 2022, 1:58 pmJust checked to see how we were doing on this month's C2 Challenge. There is some type of glitch. When I last looked, we had floated 4 or 5 boats. Now we have none (only two partials)! We lost the scores for all of our female rowers and most of the males. I am going to re-enter Linda and my scores to see if they stick.

Re: Forum Flyers
I'd like to say thank you to harrythehampster for reaching out directly. The kids were on spring break last week and we were off the grid for part of it, and I wouldn't have seen about resubmitting March's distance otherwise. I got my distance resubmitted before the cut off.
I took a stab at the April CTC this morning and have no idea what Jack was talking about - taking candy from a baby? It was my first time specifically targeting a higher rate and it was really hard trying to hit a target pace and rate at the same time. After the second interval, the monitor was showing 28 SPM, and I had an internal debate about throwing in the towel and trying again later given that it was outside of +/-1, but saw it out. Afterwards the PM and Ergdata both showed 27-29-33-30-27 so I think I'm good? I went ahead and submitted.

I didn’t see a reference to target pace in the challenge rules? Targets set conditional on the encumbering terms of the challenge are a very good idea. Aspirational targets ego-spawned are a recipe for suffering, if not necessarily abject failure.

You got me there! I normally set a target pace for intervals and can hit it pretty consistently, but between the target rate and short rest periods, suffering just about sums it up.jackarabit wrote: ↑April 11th, 2022, 10:15 amI didn’t see a reference to target pace in the challenge rules? Elizabeth, I appreciate that you appreciate the argument made from the pov of geratric weakness. OTOH, 285 watt average for a tough 15’ certainly ain’t chopped liver! Very best argument in favor of sticking to your high expectations of yourself.

Way to go Elizabeth! I had said an an earlier comment that I wasn't looking forward to these high stroke rates. I think Jack was trying to convince me that it wouldn't be that bad . I will do the things that Jack suggested - but am waiting until mid-April to give it a try. Also glad that someone was able to contact you about the March CTC It looks like we got back up to our five boats launched for March.

Does seem a bit like marathon dancing, flagpole sitting, and the six day races all rolled in one until one finds Judy Geer, 3 time US National Rowing Team Olympian, rowerging right along with us (13th consecutive day). And for those doing the WEC meter munch with an eye on the prize, it’s an easy double dip. Only 2 more days, A.R.G. Hang in there.. . . I too have been participating in this near death experience otherwise known as the April Fool’s Challenge. But I have another question, can someone tell me please, how I sign up to the monthly CTC Challenge. Are all the virtual boats taken or is it done on a rolling basis?
My fitness has slipped in the last three years from a high when I finally did a sub-8 2k after doing the Pete Plan (don’t laugh please as I appreciate that’s not great compared to many others). I’ve done very limited erging recently - two years in the Middle East, COVID - so I’m not going to be the secret ringer in any team. However, the CTC does sound a good way of keeping up the motivation.
I’m 65, 6’, 100kg HWT. Erg at the gym most days, usually average about 30/35km week.
Many thanks
Gordon

Re: Forum Flyers
On the CTC web site (c2ctc.com), click on "add or update a person" near the upper right-hand corner of the page. It'll take you to a registration page where you enter your information including team name. Once you've rowed the event, you just go to the home page, enter your name, password and result, and you're automatically added to the appropriate "boat" for the team. Hope that helps.mudgeg wrote: ↑April 14th, 2022, 3:56 pmI too have been participating in this near death experience otherwise known as the April Fool’s Challenge. Many thanks. With a little help with a password reset from Citroen, I think I am now registered.

Re: Forum Flyers
Thanks for the encouragement Jack! Gave me the inspiration needed to get in 10 k after coming home from work late on the 13th. Challenge is now done and dusted. And yes, definitely worked to pack in the meters for the WEC. Finished quite close to Gordon. From the similarity in number of meters, I am guessing with both did the March Mudness thing as well.jackarabit wrote: ↑April 13th, 2022, 6:18 pm

Last day for both April Fools and the WEC. Tomorrow will be a no-erg day for me - but then will start trying those higher stroke rate pieces.

Average age of 63 too! And I thought I was getting old.
And yes, ARG, your guess is right, I too did the basic Mud Season Challenge.

Okay - I did it! Proud that I managed to pull it off but won't be trying to get another better distance. Felt a bit like a hummingbird beating its wingsjackarabit wrote: ↑April 1st, 2022, 9:53 amApril CTC
