That's amazing Darrell, to do something that you thought was impossible two months ago just proves we can do anything if we put our mind to it.
Pre heart attack when I was struggling to do 500m,and not understanding why I wasn't making any progress, compared to the woman I am today... I just can't believe it's the same body I inhabit.
Because of all this I feel thirty years younger, I may not look it πŸ˜‚, but I feel it. I'm mentally sharper, and have energy to spare, and I'm more positive about life.
Someone pm'd me recently when I was struggling with this covid rubbish and I was feeling low, and stated something really relevant..
"that we are all improving as a group"
And I think that's totally true, we've all been through the mangler..
Question, should we have our own team on the concept 2,and if so what should we call ourselves..
Food for thought eh.. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Another 10k to the good, feeling great, I reckon as most of us are from the same era, you'll all recognise at least half or more of the track list, I'm building for a marathon...

Obviously dangerscouse will probably know them all and have copies or mixes, mostly on vinyl πŸ˜‚ πŸ‘

M1 A1/ gorillaz
Feel the passion/blue pearl
Shallow grave/left field
Insanity/oceanic
Riders on the storm/the doors
Born slippy/underworld
Hot ride/prodigy
Voodoo people /prodigy
Cowgirl /underworld
Walk like an Egyptian /the bangles

Hahaha, you had me until The Bangles. The rest of them are all great. I wish I had the space for vinyl; I went digital a long time ago.

Personally I'd swap M1 A1 for 19-2000 (Soulchild remix) and add in Prodigy- 'Diesel Power' ; Leftfield- 'Dusted' & Beck- 'E-Pro'

I'd also highly recommend Elektrons album, especially 'Get Up' and 'Joy'. It's from 2007 and criminally unknown. It's on Wall of Sound label so you know it's going to be good.

I have all the gorilla albums, and laika come home is one of my favourites, for a chilled Friday evening, and g sides, lovely but not for rowing πŸ˜‚.
I will look out for elektrons album, sounds like my kind of music.
All the prodigy and underworld tracks are all linked to motorcycles in my mind...
My ninja power my number cruncher... Mmm skyscraper one of my all time tracks.
I could talk music all day πŸ‘πŸ˜Š, my dad was a musician, my son plays the clarinet and my daughter plays the flute.... But I can play nothing even spending my childhood with a house full of instruments.

Insanity/oceanic
Just about the only dance track from the early 1990s that I didn't despise. All those evenings getting dragged into clubs by my mates for one more pint... Still it's fairly reassuring to know that I was more of a curmudgeon in my 20s than I am now!

Now Stu, you can't diss Walk Like An Egyptian. How else would you know where to find all the cops?

πŸ˜‚ True apparently, today I'm listening to the chilli's, scar tissue, bren kerIs girl friend and I used to ride the nurburg ring until she committed suicide in 2009 live in Hyde Park in 99, the supporting band got bottles thrown at them totally rubbish πŸ˜‚

We rode from Germany to London, very swiftly πŸ˜‚

I'm always up for talking about music, and I can't play an instrument either. I did buy a cheap keyboard about four months ago, and I'm still determined, probably more hoping, to learn.

I have got hundreds of recommendations from a massive range of genres, and I'm always itching to get other people to hear things for the first time

I gave up workout music for lent. No TV or anything to replace it either.
Speaking of Walk Like An Egyptian... that is anti-workout music for me. Haha.

All interesting, what is your all time favourite track to listen to whilst rowing, and why, is it the beat, the inspirational lyrics, or something totally out of this world.
Links to YouTube would be good, to share the love πŸ‘πŸ€”

Hhhmmm. I struggle a bit to think of anything that isn't fairly ephemeral, and it varies for the type of effort required too, but off the top of my head I can think of these:

Sattam- Someone Else
KC Lights- Girl
Mark Knight- Diary of a Studio 54 DJ
Mark Knight & Mason- Givin Up
Mark Knight- The Return of Wolfy
Marco Santoro (The Cube Guys Remix) - Be

All of these above are quite piano led house tunes, but I'm equally happy listening to tech-house.

Older dance tunes, at least 10 years old, that still really work for me are:
FPI Project- Going Back To My Roots
Dino Lenny- I Feel Stereo
The Beginerz- Reckless Girl
Sub Bug- Keep Rockin
Stevie Nicks- Edge of Seventeen (MYNC Project Remix)
CJ Bolland- It Ain't Going To Be Me
Red Tape- Alright
Elektrons- Joy

Non-house tunes:
Foals- Mountain At My Gates (the lyrics really resonated with me during lockdown)
Leftfield- Dusted
Prodigy- Diesel Power
NWA- If It Ain't Ruff
Eminem- Lose Yourself
Bomb The Bass- Bug Powder Dust (the bass line!!!)
M/A/R/R/S- Pump Up The Volume
Idles- Danny Nedelko (punk band, so it's a bit heavy)
Idles- Mr Motivator
Ministry- Jesus Built My Hotrod (industrial metal band, but this is a bit different, but I do like their other stuff too)
Donald Glaude- Get Up

There are loads more, but these are what spring to mind straight away. There's no chance I could just pick one.

I hadn't heard of a bunch of those. Thanks.

I do a lot of hour ss rows, so I do a lot of concerts that are over an hour.. house/trance (or whatever it's called these days) to put me in a zone.

I tend to have soccer/futbol or the weather on the tube as well.

Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, and Carl Cox have a lot of concerts over an hour out there.

Another thing I like to do is hit shuffle on all my liked music (on youtube subscription).

Hey Holly62,
Just catching up and glad your fit and back on it, your times in general are pretty darn good really - certainly the 5k and HM.
I am getting ready for the April Fools challenge and HM in May, set up a donate page on the BHF site for charity.
Thanks for the inspiration.

If you like trance, you'll probably like the Knee Deep Podcast on Soundcloud or YouTube, or any mix by Hot Since 82. It's Progressive House, so it's not trance, but it's similar.

I like the harder and faster styles of electronic music.
My track for the first 2k TT was this one and it is very good representing the style I like when it comes to older tracks from the 90s: Jam and Spoon's Hands on yello - You gotta say yes to another access
