10k PB, 39:44.4, 1:59.2/500.
Nice to nail a workout after having to cut short both interval sessions this week (slightly too ambitious on both).
Managed to cut 14 seconds off my prior 2020 PB.
Super consistent with a strong finish!

I have been keeping all training on the rower and bike to under 30 mins over the last 4 weeks with the view to focus on the shorter distances.
So tonight I did a 1k tt on the bike erg and broke my pb by 12 secs, I finished in 1min 39secs. It places me in 4th place in the British over 50s category.
I had a bit left over in me, it was done on a whim and I did not go all out as I did not want to feel sick as I was about to eat a jacket potato. I had just got out of a hot bath as well so not the best state physically lol. I was even able to get a number to verify the ride, that was a first.
I have been doing a strength program for weights and feel I have more power so hoping this will cross over in the rowing as well.

1000m, time 1.39.0, watts 361, rpm 90, ave 1.38.9, df 103.

Newbie gains here. Decided to go for a "hard" 5k while maintaining a lower stroke rate, and realized mid way that I could easily beat my old 5k PB. Ended up beating the old PB by 33 seconds and I wasn't even going all out. Shows the power of a few weeks of long slow training. Still really slow compared to most here, but inching up to the 33rd percentile for my age/weight now according to the logbook. I know there will come a time when eking out a second or 2 improvement will take work, but for now, I'll take this.
