What? You can use a kindle with the pm5? Wow. I would have never thought of that.
I've got a bunch of kindle fires. All but one can run ergdata. the one that can't is a high end kindle fire hdx which runs a different operating system than all the others. You see the difference when you look for ergdata in the Amazon app store -- if the kindle can't run ergdata then ergdata doesn't show up as an installable ap. They seem to go on sale with the 7" size $35 USD. (The e-ink kindle paperwhites are different and wouldn't work).

Most people use ERGDATA to save the HR monitor and auto reconnect it. You could use the flash drive for this, and it should work, but then you are missing the huge value of the concept2 log.
Some people on this forum keep saying that this doesn't work and should not be attempted, but this has not been my experience over 3 years at all.
I have had my USB stick in PM5 for all of the time and it hasn't conflicted with pairing ErgData or ErgZone or saving the results in the PM5. Literally, no problems. Another advantage besides the ability to save HR belt is the ability to overwrite Custom Workouts page with your Favourites page, essentially letting you customize 10 workouts instead of 5.

Concept2 has stated that using ErgData and USB stick is not guaranteed to work, but not that it doesn't work. Give it a try.

Yes, that seems foreign to me also. Use USB and Ergdata 6 days a week and no problems to date.

Just to be sure, the H10 works with the PM3 right (with the external receiver)? Not just the pm5?

PM3 external receiver uses the older gymlink protocol. H10 works with that protocol for me (talking to my 90's lifecycle). You may need to turn gymlink on using the Polar Beat App -- I think I needed to, but don't remember.

AFAIK the H10 will talk to your PM3, however I have not tried it. Belts without gymlink (also called 5 kHz) will not work, so I think you are stuck with polar ecosystem HRMs, and only a few of those.

(other things to do with H10 ... try heart rate variability with EliteHRV app, go running/rowing without your phone by capturing HR in the H10... run both gymlink to your PM5 and BTLE or ANT+ to another app like polar beat. Nice belt.)

EDIT: Concept2 says Polar 5 kHz enabled straps (H9, H7, H10, T31) work with that receiver .
