Xeno, which dvd's would be better for a senior lightweight lady erger? A lot of the workout stuff on the forum expects that I have an under-2:00 split. I need work on technique and also a step-by-step plan for workouts. I have been doing endurance workouts almost exclusively, and want to do a bit more speedy stuff. Would I need all 4?

Thanks,

grams

Hi Xeno!

I got my two DVDs, #1 and #3. I really like them both. The one DVD's case got broken in shipment, but the DVD iteself seems okay--it's got one tiny scratch, but it seems to play allright. I'll let you know if I have any problems with it.

And Grams,

I think you might like the two DVDs I got. I'm 48 y/o, heavywt (working to change that to lwt!), and I've only had my C2 model D since May. The technique video breaks down each component of the drive--I believe I've seen the term "microscopically" used for this--and it really does make you take a hard look at your technique and, um, bad habits. I'm one of those folks who has to really watch the return so that I'm not bending my knees to early.

In the workout DVD, Xeno demonstrates using arms only, 1/4 stroke, 1/2 stroke, 3/4 stroke, and complete stroke for the workout. He also shows how to do an "arms only" using both arms together or one arm at a time. In addition, there's a "one leg at a time" section, but I don't think this can be done unless you have the slides? I reckon you could just row during this part. An interval workout is included as well, and I believe it has 15 hard strokes with 15 rest strokes. I think these all could be adapted to any skill level. The workout makes the time go by fast!

Hope this helps!
--Jen

I look forward to meeting you one day when your family decides to jump in the plane bound for Orange County.

All the best,
XENO

Thanks, Xeno,

I went for all 4. I think I need a bit of all the topics covered. I will let you know how it goees.

Just to spread the wealth around, I will work a bit with PaulS and ErgMonitor too. I already use his s10ps and strapless advice. I will be structuring some interval work based on my heart rate and AT, since that seems more relevant thatn 'canned' workouts meant for younger males.

My husband and I have modified our van camper to hold his bikes and my rowing machine-so we may drop in on you sometime if we are down that way on a road trip.

Regards, grams
