Shame its always "Bug Fixes" and very few of the product improvement suggestions happen in the Firmware.

Will give it a whirl on my second PM5, maybe it now works better with ErgData on my old phone again like it did in V168.

Updated from V31 to V32 and the Bluetooth connectivity looks better.

Still have not changed the split options for short timed rows like the 1 minute, it needs 10 sec and 20sec and 30sec split options, not just the one split which is useless. Simply no detail available in the upload to the C2 logbook otherwise.

I updated to 170 as well, but so far do not notice any difference to 169.

You probably know this but just in case.....Ergzone for the 1' TT and you can set 10s, 20s etc.....works well. :)

No I didn't but thats no good to me it needs to be in the PM5 splits settings as my results are all ErgData.

This is a really a quick fix for Concept 2 and is actually an error if you think about it.

Improvements and bugfixes for wireless functionality
If by this they mean your Garmin device will no longer work then correct. My BikeErg has stopped connecting completely to my Garmin 945. :( I won't by updating the rower for sure.
Anyone else have issues with Garmin devices connecting. Used to work fine. I use iphone/ErgData app, Garmin 945, and Polar H10 belt.

Bluetooth or ANT+ ? It would appear that the Bluetooth protocols are simply not being universally followed. Concept 2 are really struggling to get a single firmware release to cover all possible devices out there. I had to stay on V168 or I had problems with V169. Currently testing V170 and its all okay so far. Usually problems show up instantly, its a go no go situation.

Have asked C2 some time ago to have legacy versions of the firmware available on their website as rolling back is a real problem if the update doesn't work.

I updated from 169 to 170 successfully or so I thought. Shortly after got 1943-46 & 1944-46 code errors and couldn't clear them. Fixed it by removing the batteries for a while. Put them back in and it worked. First time I've had an issue with firmware. Always use my laptop, the utility and a cable to do the updates. Have never used a USB flash drive. Now I'm a bit wary doing the 171 update. Might leave it for a while.

From the release timing I'd guess a bad or pervasive bug with a clean fix surfaced in 170/209 and they fixed it. If you are on 170 or 209 and don't load 171/210 now, I'd load it shortly.

(No inside scoop, just can't think of another reason for that short a test cycle for 171/210. If 171/210 fixed a minor problem normally it would ship in the next planned update so it gets long test cycle. If 171/210 was planned they would have just skipped 170/209).

p.s. Thank you whoever combined these threads. much better combined.

No worries with that, it was a no-brainer. It helps if folks search the forum before posting a new thread.

Updated my PM5 to v171 using USB Flash drive. Both Polar HR monitor and ErgData are functional. No issues so far.

The HR averaging system in PM5 171 seems to have changed. My HR graph in logbook shows drops of up to 15 from one stroke to the next, rising again over the next 4-5 strokes. This likely due to the occasional missed beat and a shorter rolling average time than before. A watch display, connected to the same belt, does not show the same large changes.

Not a complaint: readout reaction time would be shorter and I see the missed beats, if that's what it is.

2024: stroke 5.5W-min@20-21. ½k 190W, 1k 145W, 2k 120W. Using Wods 4-5days/week. Fading fast.
