Can anyone say why i get a slight pain in my mid to lower back a day or so after starting training on the Concept 2? I am new i guess to rowing properly.... I have rowed in the past, but not so called properly, i am going to try and improve my endurance and technique over the next 2 weeks.

Was just hoping someone could say the pain is down to bad technique. I would class myself as fit, i can do 20min HIIT on the stationary bike. I also get slight ache in between the crease on my elbow, is this poor form again?

Look forward to your replies.

Adrian

Rowing is whole body, unlike stationary bike.

You low back should never bother you rowing. Mine hasn't in 35 years, with or without layoffs. Row easy and get a flow to it. Once nothing hurts, start trying to go a bit faster or stronger.

About your elbow. Some beginners try to pull with their arms while pushing with their legs. Do that in sequence: Legs, arms. Otherwise you are using your legs to blast your biceps, shoulders and elbow joint.
