So glad to see that this amazing Team is still rockin' and rollin! I read back through the posts from the start of the Holiday Challenge, and it reminded me how much I love the enthusiasm and cheer K2 brings to the Team. It just wouldn't be the same without you, K2!

This year I've got a shoulder injury I'm still healing from, so I decided to do this challenge wearing an adaptive harness. Found one on Amazon that is working fine. I'll try to post a picture later. No matter what, it's great to be back! I've missed this Team Room chatter!

Over 2,000 ergers in the Concept2 Universe have met their 100K milestone, and 200 have met the 200K milestone. With 20 Lunies on the 100K board, and 3 on the 200K board, the Lunies are somewhat mirroring the bigger herd. Great to see that more and more people are participating with 1.5 billion meters logged, and over 19K participants generating over $7K towards the $45K goal ! Keep going! This is good stuff !

And now for the "but Santa, I can explain" segment ! Had every intention of doing a lot more meters yesterday. You know, something that would get me closer to getting Buttercup out of the reindeer holding pen where she's been stamping her hooves for a few days. The Goldens had other ideas about how to spend time on a windy, windy afternoon though. They fancied a longer walk, and given that the NFL Denver Broncos were facing another debacle later into the evening, I thought "why not? I can do more meters when we're back!" Snort and true hahaha. We set off at what felt like a gallop, on a walking path that had recently had more gravel added...in fact, some sections felt almost like walking in sand. This particular path splits the nines on a nearby golf course, and provides refuge for many, many birds and some wildlife. The coyotes, fox, muskrat, squirrels, bunnies,skunks, chipmunks, voles and other field mice kind of habitat. So many things to sniff out! The pups were really nose busy. And they had never seen a muskrat...and whoa...they have creeks and ponds here. The leashes were straining, but did not break. The wind blew mightily, and the temperature dropped 15 to 20 degrees in that hour. So much so that another sun dog was spotted! Sun dogs, as noted more recently, are prismatic...but I didn't realize that it was the refraction of light off ice crystals in the air that caused us to see them!
