Just a post to say that based on personal experience I would not recommend using RowPro when attempting a 24h row or similar endeavour.
I downloaded and installed RP v5.7 this week-end to use for a 24h attempt. I set up a custom 24h row in RowPro, which seemed like the logical thing to do. The first hint of trouble was that the PM4 showed "4:00:00", not "24:00:00". I foolishly thought it was a minor glitch or that the PM4 couldn't display double digit hours. I was reassured when I started to row, since while the time counted down from 24h in RowPro and down from 4h on the PM, every thing else was in synch, and the predicted meters on the PM were consistent with a 24h session.
Unfortunately, as soon as I reached 50k meters the PM reset, as did the RowPro display (now showing a new 24:00:00 clock but no longer counting down the time nor counting up the meters). The "workout" was saved in the PM memory, but didn't register in RowPro.
A couple of hours later, I set up a 24h variable interval session the PM4, and when I started rowing RowPro synched up and everything functioned normally until the end. When the row was completed it was added to the PM4 memory but, again, nothing in RowPro.
I don't know if it's a RowPro issue, a RowPro+PM4 issue or something else, but it hasn't encouraged me to use RowPro in the future.

Re: RowPro 5.7 bugs (24h row)
Pretty much nobody would use RowPro for a 24 hour row.
Nobody would attempt to do it offline let alone online as you simply wouldn't hold your internet connection for that long.
ErgData would be your best bet making sure your phone is fully charged, probably even left on the charger.
Managed a FM using RowPro online with a few others years ago, wouldn't want to push it beyond 3 hours really.
Not surprising it has a bug, your probably just better to report the Bug to Digital Rowing.
V5.7 can still randomly "Crash", it simply completely exits all by itself. I have had this even before checkin with it having been open for 20 minutes waiting for the row start time. It can randomly exit at any time.
RowPro has a few quirks that I ended up finding work around's for as they never got fixed. Part of the problem is that Digital Rowing is unable to replicate the problem and hence cannot fix it.
Overall its a good package, the biggest issue these days is the graphics that are getting very dated.

You need to shout loudly at your phone company/internet service provider.Carl Watts wrote: ↑October 26th, 2021, 3:49 pmNobody would attempt to do it offline let alone online as you simply wouldn't hold your internet connection for that long.
My internet (albeit that it's slow at 27Mbps down/5Mbps up) has been rock solid for more than 20 months.

Not the same requirements for RowPro as many other things it would appear. Until recently RowPro couldn't "Buffer" and begin working correctly again when it managed to get reconnected.Citroen wrote: ↑October 26th, 2021, 8:41 pmYou need to shout loudly at your phone company/internet service provider.Carl Watts wrote: ↑October 26th, 2021, 3:49 pmNobody would attempt to do it offline let alone online as you simply wouldn't hold your internet connection for that long.

I have Wireless AC with fiber so I get a stable 100Mbps connection download and 25Mbps upload, it helps but its not faultless. I could pay more each month and get unthrottled 200Mbps but I suspect it would make zero difference.
There are like traffic lights within RP for your connection with the race server. Green, Orange and Red and they are constantly changing. I'm no expert in this field but even with decent hardware at your end, you can still have issues.
I suspect this is just another reason that RP has struggled over the years. Even if your pretty tech savvy and have really good hardware the amount of troubles you experience these days would be unacceptable to many people. If your a survivor of 56K dial up and saw your first Sinclair ZX80 computer load its game off a cassette tape, your a bit more tolerant .
To my knowledge the race server is is Huston, Texas you know that state in the USA that had that massive power grid failure this year and couldn't even manage to keep the lights on.

Re: RowPro 5.7 bugs (24h row)
To be clear it wasn't an online session, I just needed something plugged into the PM so it wouldn't shut down, in addition to saving the data (which it didn't). I wanted to keep my phone available for other uses and didn't have any other devices handy, so I had to use PC-compatible software.
As fas as I can tell there's no other similar software available.

Re: RowPro 5.7 bugs (24h row)
ErgData is really good at keeping the PM5 alive. With my dual PM5 setup I can get the ANT+ HR connected and ErgData connected and the row distance/time setup and then just leave it for several minutes while setting up the PC with RowPro on the other monitor.
What I have is now the most robust system at my end that is possible and it has not failed now for months. The problem is that its a setup thats totally beyond what most users would be prepared to put time and money into.
